What the hurricane was like at this link. I had school, and you could not get one class period by or moment without talking about that hurricane. People were comparing stories and talking how they still don't have power and they came to school to be in the AC. I got lucky and had barely any homework. Plus, 53 kids were absent in the Jr/Sr high today, and they aren't counting them as absent! 53 is a lot too, esp when we only have 43 in our senior grade. So it's so crowded here and at lunch Jamie and I had to go to a NHS meeting, so we left a little bit early than everyone else and we drove to Sonic, first thing we saw that was open. It took about 10 minutes to drive there, when normally it maybe takes 2. And they were low on some food, and couldn't take credit cards. We got back to school at 12:15, and the meeting starts at :10, and no one was there. So no meeting, but we sat with Matt and talked about what else, but the hurricane. I couldn't do Astronomy because the internet isn't working there. I had a lab in Chem today so must do that lab report tonight, about to start that after this. I helped dad clean more up the tree today. All that's left of the one in the pond, is the trunk of it. Branches are gone. Ooo it was hard to drag those, and so hot ouside, feel bad for the people still out of power. So, Baton Rouge.... not looking good. We have 225,000 people in it and they are saying the population will double in no time. There are cars everywhere, and food, water, and gas sells out so quickly. Mom went to Wal-Mart today and said there was no produce/vegetables at all; all gone. I heard that 40 houses were sold today, and remember I said my old house was for sale? Well, this past weekend it was still for sale, and had like no damage with the storm, it'll be sold real soon. My school is already making a list for new kids to join in with us. Many kids lost their schools, and they can't be out for 2-3 months, so they'll be coming here. New Orleans is in terrible condition. From what I'm hearing, it's just terrible. I'm not going to say what's going on, but it's like Lord of the Flies down there. I'm at a loss for words. I don't think it's going on right now, but martial law really needs to happen down there. It's out of control. 9:18PM

(later) Okay, the explanation is finished, go here for it. Did lots of clean up today. 'Scary' tree is almost gone, a few branches are gone from the other tree. The roof is fixed for now. School is back on for tomorrow even though everyone else is still off. I wonder if kids will show up. Probably not. If you have any questions, ask. 9:05PM
--Finally it is over. I'm going to make a page that describes what happened yesterday, but for now here is a small summary: lost power for 18 hours, lots of debris just everywhere, we lost some shingles in the 'bad' spot where we thought we would lose them, and two trees fell. So wait for the page for the explanation and pictures/video. 1:50PM

No update due to power lost during Hurricane Katrina.

August 28, 2005
(later) Been through a few bands already. Not bad at all. We picked up mom and she's freaking out. Geez, take a breath, and get freaked out tomorrow, not now. We got dinner and I've just sitll been watching the tv. I'm going to take a shower tonight so I can get my hair dry and hopefully it will not get too nasty. I'm going to get my bathroom ready, but some important things in there, maybe grab the sleeping bag just in case it becomes too much during the night. Thanks everyone for your concern, means a lot. 9:12PM
(later) Well, for the one of the top 4 most powerful storms to ever(recorded) hit the US, I think we are almost ready. lol. Almost all of our 'big' windows are boarded up. We probably won't do some of the smaller ones. Though I think we should. I've cleaned 2 of 3 bath tubs and filled them with water. I'm going to clean mine, but keep it empty, and it will be like a bunker, lol. Our master-bath jacuzzi is filled for the first time ever, in 13 years. Yes that's right. The only time it's been used was to clean it, so strange that this is the really first official use of it. We've gathered all batteries and we're charging video/camera/phones. We're going to be taking video of it of course, lol. I hopefully want to get a few shots before night falls and things begin to pick up. People are on the tv are like, you need to get out. It's a deadly storm and will ruin everything it touches. And I think, great thanks for reminding me for the thousandth time. Thanks. One station showed that we would get winds up to 100-120mph winds, and then up to 10 inches of rain. I expect power to be shut off. Not sure when, but I would like to come back in here and give little updates every so often, but it all depends on the situation of the storm. I'm not putting my computer in danger, lol. But I doubt there will be lightening. Just mostly wind, lots of it, and rain. And I'm also sick: voice has changed to the sick sound, my nose runs, but my throat is better. I've checked in with a few friends today. Amber is worried and has some family friends moving in. Jamie has left her house with her sister, 3 pets, and photo albums to make the drive to where her parents are at the camp. When I went to get lunch I saw that 3 gas stations were empty, they were sold out/covered up. Cars are everywhere, you see more in driveways and yeah. And I still haven't seen people board up and I do think that is a bad idea. We're still probably going to get really powerful winds and it can easily blow out a window. They are gonig to learn the hard way. School is cancelled for tomorrow and no set reopening date just yet. Our school website said it's going to depend on many factors: what damage there is, if there is power, water, phone service, if teachers can get to school, if we can. I expect to be out actually Tuesday and maybe even Wednesday too. If you are watching CNN or something they are saying New Orleans could be ruined and without power and a water drainging system for months. This is not the case for Baton Rouge. We're 60 ft above sea level, hell of a lot better then N.O. We have 3 cars and a garage that fits 2, so we're going to go bring one to a location and leave it there. We shouldn't have much flooding, my location is a lot better than others just a few minutes awayfrom me. We don't have many trees either. Like maybe 10 around my house that could fall, where other houses have 30 or so. Just lots, and I'm only worried about 1. I'll take a picture of it. And then we have one big one that's close to the house, and it's scary becuase it's big. And then some 'smaller' ones not too far away. Maggie, charge your phone, I want to call you if cell phone service works. So yeah, that's about it. I did Andrew 13 years ago, pretty close to this one, but still it's a different storm. This is the first time we've ever really done all this for a storm, it's strange seeing light on one side of the open windows and then very dark in rooms nearby. We've been preparing for 2 days now and it's just a waiting game. You know it's there and you can't do anything but wait for it. 3:11PM
--Category 5, 160 175mph winds. I am officially worried now. And am so happy we have the boards going up now. I mean sure we won't get the direct eye hit, but we'll pretty damn close. I'll be camping out in my bathtub I see. And I'll be taking some video, mostly for sound I suppose. ahh 9:08PM

(later) Around 6:30 I drove over to Jamie's and helped her gather some pictures up. We wanted to leave as soon as possible since we had to get to Starbucks for 7, but we ended up leaving at 6:50 because she couldn't find her cat. We arrived around 7:10. It was okay because only Amber was there, and she was sitting on the trunk of her car, lol. Then Jeffrey arrived and finally Jamie. Ryan decided not to go. So Jamie says, she's here, and we're like what!? So we go inside and don't see her. So uh oh. There's another Starbucks in the Barnes and Noble. Jamie calls her up and asks where she is, and turns out she's at the other one! So instead of the four of us going to her, she comes to us. And we're sitting on the steps ish area outside and she pulls in in front of us. It was like oh wow! There she is! lol. So we say to Paige and go inside. Don't really see a place to sit inside so we go outside. We talk for a while and I get a drink and we talk and look at more photos of long long ago. It was nice to get back together. Around 8 or so she had to leave because she had to go to a baby shower, I think. We took 2 pictures, and we were told we couldn't take it inside, it was strange, but we went ouside. She left and the four of sat there for another 20 minutes or so. Then we left going our own ways and I picked up some dinner. I noticed that the roads were pretty crowded. Definately more cars than normal. This morning and last night I was really worried about the storm, but now not so much. But I imagine it'll pick up again tomorrow when it gets closer and yeah. 10:59PM
--I think we are prepared no for the storm should it come over here. Dad has been running lots of errands all day: filling up the cars with gas, going to Wal-Mart early, going to Home Depot for wood, etc. I later went to Wal-Mart and got some cereal, crackers, dry foods type of thing. I've just been watching the weather channel all day for the updates and just seeing what they have to say. I imagine school might be cancelled for Monday, still depends on where this thing heads. Tonight I have this meet up with some friends here, meeting up with a girl who left about 8 years ago. Apparently we're going to Starbucks? I'm not really sure, lol. Plans are changing and Jamie didn't tell me everything yet. Oh well. We have tarps, a generator, plywood and 2x4s, lots of water, and stuff I grabbed since I'm still planning on being sick this weekend, lol. My throat is still like sticky ish, so I grabbed some tissues and things of that matter. And really, if it hits us, I do believe it will be the first time (during the number of years I've had a blog on the internet) that I will 'report/be in' it. That's it. I probably will make another update later tonight. Maggie, Yeah, Beowulf, Tolkien was inspired from it to write the Hobbit, and LotR. I believe that's what I read anyway. lol yeah 4, basically all swarming together to have one powerful math class. 1:10PM

Yay! Weekend time! We're reading Beowulf in English, which is cool because I've been wanting to read that because of the tie with LotR. I see where he got some of ideas from now. Statistics, *sighs* it feels more like a club rather than a class. Maybe because we have 4 teachers in there. They seem to have fun, and I like the class. It's just I'm having so much trouble getting use to this type of math it uses. I checked out at the beginning of lunch and I got a smoothie at Sonic. I came home, and guess what: my breaks work real nice. lol. I was going 50 and I was at an angle that I couldn't see this cone that had fallen over in the road. Like just enough so it was in my way. And once I did see it, I couldn't move into the lane next to me because a car was driving right there of course. So I stopped, lol, and it was a nice stop I have to say. And I passed it and that was it. I've never breaked that hard ever before, good to know I've got some good breaks then, lol. I came home and put Lexi out. Then around 12:20 I left to meet my mom at the place where I was getting my sports physical. Of course you know we have to stop and chat with everyone we see, lol. Oh I've grown up so much type of talk, lol. Everything looked okay I suppose, my eye vision still sucks I noticed. lol. I came back to school around 1:50 during 6th hour and went to Study Hall. I wouldn't have come back if I could have, but I have Chem Lab, and I don't want to miss out on that. So that lab report. Er, well, I guess it's okay. I really don't know what she wanted so I just did... what I did. lol. no one else did what I did. I had paragraphs, whereas they just as graphs. We'll see. After school, and throughout the day really, the topic is: it's so damn hot out here. Because really, in all honesty, it's like a million degrees out here. And I saw that it might get up to 100!! *passes out* It's so unbearable and we still have months to go. Speaking of more weather, looks like Katrina is going to make it's way over here now. I knew it! This time I really did. It was suppose to curve up towards the pan-handle of Florida after it passed it, but I thought 'noo, it's going too far west, it's not going west.' and ah hah! I was right. So, it's iffy now as to where it will hit land. Either we will be clear if it decides to speed up and go to any direction above plain old west. But if it stays at it's current speed, or lower, and keeps going west or lower, I really think it's going to hit us or come real close. The family is watching the updates like crazy now. lol. (later: Oh shit!! This is not good at all! I mean if you flip through different channels, everyone says something different. Because it's too iffy right now, no one knows!) Last night I decided to look at my throat to see if it was red or not. Well, I looked behind my tongue and saw my trachea! Or the top of it anyway. I've never noticed it before, but if you have look right behind it and you'll see what looks to be a straw or a bone stuck in there. It's strange and gross, but cool I saw it type of thing! lol. So go check it out; take a flashlight too. What else what else. Vicki, lol yeah I do try to update everyday and some of it boring and people could live without reading, but I do it for my sake when I want to go back and read it later down the road. I'd love to go there, but I don't think I have what it takes (act/sat scores) I probably will end up applying there, but I have to check to see what they offer again. When I first started gettiing info in the mail it was for Meteorology, or the weather. But I've changed that idea and will go into some form of business. I plan to have it more specific by the end of this month. Maggie, Stella, remember I told you about that show? With Michael Ian Black from the I Love the's? lol yeah, I guess you would have to live down here to understand all the talk I say about the hurricanes, but hopefully you're learning something by all my posts I comment on it, lol.

Took home my negatives today and scanned them into the computer. It takes forever to do, but I finally got them. They turned out pretty well. I would show you, but I don't have the time. Guess you'll have to check back. Went to Jamie's house for lunch. Had a ham sandwich. Was good, and I was with the usual posse along with Nick and Carl. Jamie's mom likes doing those sort of things, so it works out nicely and it's free! Turned in my last Astronomy assignment. Very pleased, because I was quite worried about not finishing in time. We did our lab in Chem Lab today. It was fine, not too complicated, but for tonight we had to make a lab report. Now I haven't done a lab report in 5 years and know absolutely nothing about them. So, since I save all of my work, I was able to find those 5 year old reports and get a small idea. I also used the handy dandy internet. Still not even sure if I did what she wanted, but I'm turning it anyway. And I think I'm getting sick. My throat is all ... scratchy, slightly though, but has that nasty taste to it, like dry or something, and it sticks when I try to swallow, lol. I blame school because of it's kids and germs. I really hope I won't be though, least the weekend is almost here. That's all the time I have for an update. I just need to transfer my charts for the lab report and I'm going to sleep. 10:04PM

--Woo this week is going by quickly and I love it, lol. It totally doesn't feel like Wednesday right now. Awesome. Saw my film today. I like it. Oh wait, hang on. Hello, losing it, lol. I saw it yesterday. oh lmao, I need sleep. But today! I really looked at it. Cut it and put it in nice holders, a sheet that holds it. ... Yeah. And so I was just thinking, hm, I probably won't print every picture (36 of them) so how can I get them? *taps head* Honestly I can't think. Finally remembered that I can scan negatives with my scanner. And then I thought, last time I did that the color was off, but hello once again: it's black and white film! lmao. So the posse finally realized I haven't driven to lunch yet, well one time, but we all left to go home, so doesn't really count. Usually Jamie says she'll drive because she doesn't like her parking spot. And Amber will be just like I'll do it. Probably shouldn't: her car is evil and dangerous at times, lol. And Jen can't fit people. So yeah I drove to McDonalds. lol, apparently I was having some problems, not quite sure what they were talking about. But we were just cracking up at everything. Times like those are just fabulous you know. Went through the drive thru too, which was equally funny in it's own way. Just random things. Like: ordering 4 different orders, lol, can get complicated. And paying, Amber brought up an old quote of mine, lol, just good stuff, lol. Went to a bowling meeting, nonstop thrills there. Would just like to give a woohooo to the fact that I've finished my Astronomy work finally!!! Yes!! Will turn the last assignment in tomorrow. Got an application from University of Miami, which makes it ... 6? applications I've received. Mmm. Good day I guess, just thrilled that tomorrow is Thursday. 9:10PM

Saw my film today. Looks good, like not damaged or anything like that. Always a good thing, lol. Went to Wal-Mart for lunch with Amber, Jamie, Nick, Carl. Cheap and yummy chicken fingers. Well, I truned in my homework for Chem Lab today. No idea if we got credit. Some of the people are thinking about dropping the class. I won't because I want the experience in the lab before college and I like the class, but it's a lot of work. And I've been having lots of headaches lately. It sucks. I'm watching my taped version of Stella and I can't think, lol. I'm so distracted right now. Er. To sum it up: school is overwhelming, but body aches all over, I'm tired and it's still hotter than hell down here. Oh, and then all of a sudden tropical depression 12 is deciding to make its way across Florida and into the Gulf. Which, could get screwy. But could work out and get a hurricane day or something. But, stay a depression, no scary distructive storm thank you. Bah bah, I'm sure it's really warm water around there now. Anything else to share? You know, I wish there were more hours in a day. I complain way too much. 10:09PM

I have a group project due tomorrow and the three of us were suppose to work on it, well finish it, today in class, Stats. Well I get to class and Mollye and I are like, okay where is Stefanie? Turns out she was sick. And just happens of course that she has our work for half of the project. ... Damn. Since it's due at the beginning of class, Mollye and I have no choice but to redo it. Oh it was painful, lol, but we managed to do it. I met up with her during 6th hour and that's when we finished it. During lunch I called Stefanie's house and found out why she wasn't at school. I asked her mom if she could fax her work to the school. I checked the office later, and nothing was sent. ... So, another reason why I hate group projects, lol. Anyway, in Photo, I developed my film! Exciting. lol. I had some issues trying to get the film on the ... mm ... roll, that it goes on to go in the container that has the liquids go in. Type of thing. ... lol. oh well. The bell rang and I had to go to lunch, yes had to, and so my teacher finished it up for me. She told me later they came out nice, so on Wednesday I'll hopefully begin printing. I have a feeling that it won't happen though. So in Chem Lab, the teacher goes, oh so no one did their homework? Okay. I'm like eh what? Well apparently I, and everyone else in the class, forgot that we had to turn it in in the basket before the tardy bell rang. That sucks, and I know we were told and have it on a sheet from the first day of school, and maybe it was even on a quiz we took, but I didn't remember, same with the others. so that's great, no credit. I understand that people in the future will be like no not accepting it, but we've never had any type of system like this before and I think she should have let it slip by this one and only time. Next of course I'll remember. Vicki: Yes I do actually: my 'top' ones are Fordam, NYU, Purdue, Rhodes, Florida Tech, Northland, Barry, University of Miami and University of Colorado. But, I probably won't end up sending something in to most of those. Because, when I first received info from these I had something else in mind for a major, and so now that's changed and so some don't have what I want. Petrol sounds so much better than gas. omg!!! that's crazy!! Maggie: Yeah I know what I want in a purse, but it's never out there! lol. posse, mhmm, lol the friends laugh when I refer us as that, lol. Did it really?! Aw! I understand, one time I was on a rollar skate rink and I took a nasty spill and someone ran over my hand and then some worker announced to be careful of people falling down and runing over their hands. lol, me! Me too! 8:30PM

Not much going on today. I finished my roll of film right before it began to rain. I did homework and then worked on Astronomy for the rest of the day. These websites are just packed with info and the only way it clicks in my head is if I write it down in notes. So it's taking me a while, but I have 1.5 assignments left, so whoot. Anndd that's it. Tomorrow I'm going to bring my film to school and we're going to learn, and if we have time develop and print this upcoming week. I can't wait. I just hope I don't mess up and lose the film. 9:47PM

Woke up and Amber called me wanting to go to the mall. I told her I had to go in the shower and she went to Target. When I was ready I picked her up and got gas. It's just so expensive! Up to 2.50 right now. Crazy. We finally arrived at the mall and we walked around and Amber got some things. I only bought lunch, pizza. I'm looking for a purse, but I didn't see anything I liked. Well we left and Amber wasn't feeling well when I dropped her back off, so it was good she got home. I came home and I'm not sure, but the hours went by and I watched Big Brother and worked on some Astronomy before and after. 11:21PM

Yay! The week has finished! We had some food in Statistics. Chips and salsa, lol, it was nice though. In Photography we went out and walked around taking pictures. I used Amber as my subject in some of them. On Monday we're to bring our finished roll and we'll develop!! I'm excited. Went to Burger King to get lunch with the posse and rushed back to school to go to a tennis meeting. Yep, I'm playing. Mom doubts me, saying have you ever played in your life?!!? Well in pe for a quarter!! I'll prove her wrong, lol. Tried to do some work in Astronomy, but I couldn't concentrate. I'm going to have to make notes on this stuff. It's a lot too. Did the backing up job again at school. It's so fantastic, lol. I'm just so amused by how quicky I can get out of there when the car is like that, lol. Anyway, I came home and then later drove dad to pick up his truck. On the way home I stopped at Sonic. While I was there, a worker chick on skates took a spill. Not like 'oh ouch, I fell on my knees.' I'm talking about a full wipe out. It looked painfull. Her tray flew and some change escaped and ouch, it was quite a fall. I felt bad for her. Then she just sat up and said something later like, I'm so embarrassed because everyone saw me. I would be too. I came home and Amber called me. She wanted to see a movie. It was already too late for one, so we decided on Wedding Crashers at 6:55. She picks me up around 6 and she gets gas. If I wasn't in the car, she would have been locked out. Not good! lol. We drove to the theatre, saw Jessica and Aden so we said hey. We went to get our tickets and you know, since it's R, this place checks your id so I give it to her. And she's like what's the year for not being able to get in? 87? Oh, you're born in 87, you can't go in. I say, I'm 17. (age to get in is 17). Oh. okay. Then she gives it back and says wait let me look again. Oh. So you're 16? .... I say, um no. I'm almost 18, not 16. Oh. okay. Sorry about that. ... Omg!! The other chick working there was like noo it's the date, 88. She was saying it like listen to me bitch. lol. Amber had the same problem. Stupid. Anyway, so we go in and take a seat and wait. Have a somewhat strange convo, and the movie starts. I liked it a lot!! Very funny. I laughed so much. Afterwards she drove me home and we had some good laughs about various things. And I don't know about elsewhere, but the moon is amazing tonight! It's huge and it's clear here. So, since I have to take 18 pictures for Photo, I decided why not take advantage of this moon. So I went out and took some pictures. I'm trying to protect myself from the mosquitoes, so I've got a sweatshirt and jeans on. Oh it's soo hot outside! And so humid, my lens was fogging up. Pissing me off, because the moon was about to be behind some trees. They better come out, so hot. lol. It makes it's so unbearable. Vicki: leaf out of your book, can't say I've ever heard of that, but nifty. lol yeah, I'm worried about that too. 3!! omg! That's major ouch there! oo ouch. Bonjela? Ah I see now, looking it up through google. No, never heard of it. But, I do use ... I can't remember, but I'll run and see! ... I use Orabase B. Works for me. lol, I looked up at lists of colleges and I couldn't find it! I thought she said Bower, but wasn't spelt that way or like Bauer or some strange other way. Either Christian B.. University or B.. Christian University. I'm interested in the scholarship, but I don't know if that's some place I want to be. lol, who knows if it even exists. 11:23PM

Hm. I've had some problems logging into the site for a few hours, but it's working now. So yay. Right today. Thursday! Almost to the weekend, very pleased with that. I'm trying to think, but I keep listening to the music that's playing, lol. Well, at lunch today, I came home to see my mother and had some lovely food. It was nice. Then went back to school, backed in again, hells yeah. lol. It makes a world of a difference. The bus was late, can't leave until the bus is gone, so it arrived and I ran to the car and waited. Once it moved, I pulled out into line, it's amazing. lol. Finally did some assignments in Astronomy. Not really course related, but the type 'introduce yourself and talk about yourself' type of thing. That's it, lol. I have this ulcer in my mouth. It hurts, I hate those things. Oh and this evening, some college called me saying I'm eligible for a scholarship. ... Cool I guess. And hmm. The name I thought they said isn't on the list at college board. I guess we'll see. Said she would email or mail me some info. Vicki: I was so scared that I was going to hit the person next to me, but didn't! And today, I had two! people. Whoa, watch out. lol. haha, I had to think about what it stood for, it's National Honors Society. Maggie: lol, tis an evil name. yes, right! Finally worked out, and I'm excited about the class! 9:31PM

oo I am tired. Okay, so. Statistics. That class makes me want to scream. During class, it's fine and I understand. I get and begin homework and somehow I have no idea what I'm doing. And it takes me a million years to figure it out. This type of math just isn't registering in my mind and I'm really really not liking this class because of it. Grr. I had an NHS meeting today, so Jamie and I went to Wendy's and came back to school to eat. Oh!! Omg, lol, I backed into my parking spot today. I was so excited and proud, lmao. The past two days I have been the last to leave since I had to back out, but today! I cut my time trying to pull out by 20 minutes!! 20! I was shocked and very excited, lol. See, we have to wait until the bus leaves, so it moves and bam I pull out and am in line. It was fantastic. Oh, after 3rd hour I talked to a teacher about my issues with the Astronomy Online class. She said I should get an email for 5th hour. I checked then, and there was none. :( I went to the office to deliver another note. I went back to class and was given a note back from her. I was told to email someone, but the email failed to be sent. So. I was like great... 3 days behind now. lol. So after 5th hour I went to the office to see if she had 6th hour off, nope. So I found out where she was teaching and waited there. I ended up being in that class for 45 minutes. Works out because I have study hall. So she emails 2 people for me and we get a reply with my info finally!! yay! So now I know for sure that I'm in it, very happy about that. I get home and try the username and password and I'm able to log in. But it says that I'm not signed up for any courses. ... what!? I gave it a few hours and then it had the Astronomy links in it. So now I'm finally good to go. 10:38PM

Repeated the process all over again today, lol. We're in our rooms for Calc and Stats, but it sucks because it smells, there isn't a desk, trash can, a center outlet, and the air whistles through the grate. lol. It's so bare and ugly and smallish. Had 2 quizzes on 2 of the 6 summer reading books. Felt good, so yay. Didn't get an email from the LVS course for Astronomy. Not good at all. I left a note at the office. And when I left it, I saw my World Geo credit on the desk. Found that cool, lol. I'm excited about Chem Lab, despite how imvolved and demanding it's going to be. I say it's excellent preparation for college if I take a class like that. After school I went to Office Depot to get a binder for Stats and the girl at the check out counter asked if I was a photographer (I was holding my camera, brought it to school, and I don't have a case for it and I wasn't going to leave it in the very hot car with film in it, so I had it with me) and I said yes, lol. It slipped out. I'm not a true one, but hell I'll consider myself one, lol. She said she was minoring in photography, I said cool. She asked me something else, but I said yes even though I couldn't understand. Eh, my b. Came home, cooled off, did homework and watched tv and that's it! I'm ready for the weekend, lol, and I'm going to go to sleep pretty soon, so hence the shortness, so night. 10:25PM

So yeah, first day of school today. I woke up after the third time my alarm went off. I only remember hearing it 2 times, lol. Got dressed and was at the neighbors at 8. Drove to school and parked. It was packed. Parents were parking to drop their kiddies off and then so many that were there early so I was shocked. Got my schedule, found my locker. Top locker, whoot. Of course, all seniors got them, but whoot. lol. So my first hour's classroom (Calculus) isn't finished so we were on the stage in the auditorium. (Same with Stats too) It was kind of cool though, but hard to see. That was fine, a nice small class, maybe around 12? Can't quite remember for sure. Then I went to English. We had 3 guys in it! Honors hasn't had guys in it from what, 8th or 9th grade? So, that was shocking, lol. And I think it's going to be a good class this time, compared to last years being annoying. Then I went to Statistics. The teachers are excited about the class. There are 12 of us, and 4 teachers. I think this is the first time ever teachers have gotten together to teach. lol. Then I went to Photography II and that class went slowly. We saw the darkroom and got some papers, and that's about it. Went to lunch with Jamie, Amber, Jen, and Carl to McDonalds. Wasn't very hungry, but I was in 2nd hour of course, lol. Came back to school and went to Astronomy Online. Same place where I took Webmastering last year. But I didn't get an email from the course, soo that's not good. It officially starts tomorrow, so if nothing arrives again, that won't be good. I then had Study Hall. Lots of freshman in there, and like 4 (today) of us seniors. Our little group was nice, but eh I'm not so sure when the others will be there. Or maybe they will leave if they have 7th hour off. I don't know. I could be wrong. We'll see. Then I went to Chem Lab. And yeah, that class sounds very demanding and lots of time spent in on that one. She's a new teacher, and she knows what she's talking about which is exciting, but oo looks like a lot! of work. I came home and not too much longer started on the homework I did have. In Calc and in Stats, and Calc just took a while. But Stats is kicking my ass something awful. I'm having such trouble understanding what the 2 questions I had for homework were asking. Math is not hard for me, and this doesn't even feel like math. Finally finished the two problems after almost 2 hours. After I eat dinner, I'll be reviewing Becket and The Loved One, tests tomorrow in Eng. So I'm back in the busy busy routine already. Last time I was in school, I didn't update everyday. I'll try now, but I can imagine some days will be skipped. We'll see. I'm still trying to get everything in order, you know. But yeah, the day was fine. We didn't get any new kids, or lose any. So we have like 48 or so in our class. 8:09PM

Last day of summer today. So what did I do? Well at 2 I went outside to look at the stars. Didn't see any meteors to take pictures of, but I just took some anyway since I had everything all set up. Lexi joined me. And I do have 2 pictures. I'll put the link up at the end of this thing. Just kidding, I have 3. So I woke up, talked to Maggie for a bit, then got dressed and went out and washed my car. Hadn't washed it since this time last year, lol. So.. it needed it! It wasn't gross, but you could tell the difference when you swiped it with the sponge. Mhm. lol. So did that for almost 2 hours and then came in to cool back down. Read over my summaries on the summer reading. Then... I'm not sure. I must have done something. Well, at one point I watched tv waiting for mom to call so we could meet her to eat dinner. Met her and went to eat. And afterwards we picked up some food for me. And that is it! Boring. I know. So yeah, tomorrow I start school. ......... Nooo. I don't want to! I'm so sick of high school. I want to leavveee. But I will, next year, huge huge! thing to look forward to. But ah the process, I'm dreading it. So yeah, I imagine a lengthy update tomorrow. That is, if I'm not bombarded with AP stuff. Oh, and I seriously doubt I'll be able to fall asleep early. Last night I shot it to hell: I knocked my falling asleep time to around 2, but went to sleep after 3 last night. So.. wake up around 6:30 to get ready, whoot 3 hours of sleep. But I'll fit in, because everyone else will be half asleep too. The links: Just kidding again, here's two: Lexi the ghost and stars with an increase in contrast. Whootizzle. 9:44PM

(later) New layout! I woke up and was like, today is the day I make a new layout. Looked through the extrensive lists of people at scanned and I saw Christina Applegate's name. That'd be good! Found these pictures, and here it is! I haven't done that repeated-drop-down-image-thing in a long time, and this time it actually fits and works. So I hope you like! I woke up at 5 this morning, and looked outside, and very cloudy so I didn't get any pictures. 4:40PM
--Ah crap. Just looked outside and it's very cloudy. :( Really wanted to see this thing. And I've checked the weather on the clouds ... and hey that's strange. It says it's clear. Well. Guess I'll be waking up around 4 then to have another look. Alright. Well. Night. Read previous blog for now. 1:59AM

Woke up at about 8 this morning. Went into the shower an hour or so later. Got ready, and the friz ease stuff worked, so yay. We drove to the place, ended up passing it, turned around and went in. We were directed to the studio part. I put on the drape, sat down, the light was adjusted, and we took like 6-8 pictures. That was it, and we went back inside the house part of the place, where we could see the pictures. Up close, I didn't like the 4 we were shown. I wanted to cry. My eyes go like, half squint on one side, and I hate it. And then if I don't angle it right, my smile is gross. I was upset about it, but we chose the best one. Then I saw it on another computer behind me, so farther away it looked completely different and better. So, I can deal with that. And smaller you won't notice the eye thing. So here's the picture we decided on. I'll go back later in the year when it's cooler outside to take more senior pictures, like the regular ones. The picture is such a bad quality because it was printed on paper and it didn't come out well. I fixed it a bit in photoshop and if it goes on the internet, I'll screenshot it. (Ew, it looks really gross. Remember bad quality, not entirely bad me, lol) We left the building and we dropped off Rachel's book at her house. Then we picked up some lunch at the Jambalaya Shoppe. Went to the post office and then ate at home. Pretty good. Some time later we got my car inspected and then went to Wal-Mart. Oh man, we must have been there for 2-3 hours. I was going insane, and mom was about to lose it too, lol. This lady in the check out in front of us, omg, we wanted to bitch slap her. She was like, this price is lower elsewhere, match it. She had this huge list and the entire purchase was only around $53, should have been more for all the time she took. And she was just like I don't know, but annoying. So that was terrible. We drive home, unload. Then I sit around or and begin to read the last 15 pages of my book I have. Amber calls, and I leave the house to meet her at Calendar's. It was delicious. I drove home and I finish the reading, whoot all done!! finally! Then I put together my school supplies. Then I organized all the college stuff I had gotten in the mail. So much better now. So clear, lol. I didn't think I've gotten that much too. I'd say about ... I'll look ... from 29 places. And, I only 'like' 13 out of those. Not bad I suppose. And now here I am. So that's the update from me. Oh, and I didn't take pictures last night. I decided it would be better if I slept and not look tired for my pictures, glad I did too. So I'll be trying again tonight. 10:46PM
Quote of the day: "Where's the car?" "I don't know ... Oh, we passed it up." "Where is it? I don't see it." "That's because we're in my car." "Oh. Yeah." -Mom, me, mom, me, mom. at wal-mart lol.

Woke up around 8, got dressed and studied for about an hour and a half. Drove over to LSU and I go into the visitor center and ask for my parking pass for the day, but! It's graduation, somehow, and there is no fee today! Whoot! Saved me $2 there! lol. I was pleased, hells yeah. Signed in and took the test in under 30 minutes. And I passed, I know I did. Feel really good about it, twas easy. I couldn't cross traffic to make a left so I did this big turn around detour. lol. Drove out of LSU and went to Wal-Mart. I got some hair stuff, hope it will work for my senior pictures, which are tomorrow. The drape part anyway. I don't think I like what they have for the regular ones. I've seen people's, and eshh don't like the backgrounds at all. We'll see. I came home and, oh yeah picked up some lunch too, ate the food at home. Did some random computer things, mom like get ready I'm driving by the house and you're going to jump in and we're going to get school supplies. Now it was almost 3, which is about when the kids get out, some had first days today, so I was dreading this. We go, eh, not too bad. It's been worse on the days I've gone. Got what seemed to be not too much. But then I was like, oh yeah, I need that plastic floor thing for my computer area, for the chair you know. Mine has been shot to hell and is cracking and falling apart and I get stuck in the holes of it. lol. So that was like an added 30 bucks. So expecting it to be less, as last year was over 100, this time it was still around 90! What?! I didn't even get as much stuff. oh well. So I'm lugging around this huge thing, and you know those things are painful at times if you don't hold it right. So we've paid for everything and mom walks off leaving the cart in front of me and I'm still holding the thing. And I say, mom, yeah alright, I've got an extra hand here to push that too. lol, not so funny now, but then, pretty funny. lol. We go home, get a soda for each of us, we get into my car to get a new inspection sticker. But it had rained earlier so it was closed, but it was lovely then, but nooo. So we go to Halmark, mom needed some things. Then came home and that's it! There's this meteor shower tonight, or pre dawn time and I'm going to try to take pictures. But from what I've read, I need an f2.8 or number then that. The lowest I have is a f3.5. Probably not good enough, but on the digital is goes to f2.0. But it's digital and they say it might not work correctly in the longer shutter speed. And then I don't have the right speed of film. I do have black and white 400, which is okay, but it's black and white, what if there's some remote bit of color? We'll see. I've switched around lenses and all types, tripods and the remote shutter clicker, which is the best! So, yeah, that's it. 11:13PM

Had full intention to go to LSU to take my World Geo final, but I couldn't sleep last night. At all. It's never been so bad as this. I finally fell asleep after 4am and decided to hell with that, I'll do it tomorrow. Had planned on waking up at 7:30 to study and go early early. But, didn't happen. Finally woke up around 11, and took a shower, got ready and went out with mom. We picked up my two books I needed for my English class. Saint Joan by Bernard Shaw and Grendel by John Gardner. Got them at Barnes and Noble, and I saw my old Spanish teacher, the one from last year. I ran away, heh. lol. Then waltzed over to Starbucks in the corner of the store and got a drink. So good. Then we had the idea that we would go to Office Depot so I could get some supplies that had been put up by teachers on the school's website. But... we got some food, well mom did. I sat and had my drink and we decided oh well, we'd do it tomorrow or something, lol. We came home and I watched Big Brother with her, she missed it last night. Then throughout the day I've been reading some more. Almost done! I have about 65 pages left, I'm excited, lol. I've also finished the pictures for scanned and I've uploaded them too, so now I just must fix the coding. But I really don't feel like doing it just now. But I'll be up for like another 3 hours and this would keep me busy. Allllright I'll do it. plug. 9:20PM

Did the usual today. That is, work on scanned, which I'm almost ready for the 100+ update, and read and read some more. On page 120 out of 245. Hope to finish in two days time. Went out to pick up Jason's Deli for lunch. Got lots planned for tomorrow. Wow this is really short, lol. I'm so boring right now. As you can see, no new layout. Hopefully will do one Saturday or Sunday. *hears crickets* no wonder there aren't any comments, lol. 10:22PM

Woke up, got ready and drove to school to pick up my textbooks. I only got 3!! which is exciting since last year I got 5 and the year before probably 6 or 7, never this low! I also picked up Rachel's, so if you read this somehow, I have yours like you wanted. I came home and then worked for a little bit on scanned. Then of course, it starts to barely rain and the power blinks so I lost an image, well had to do it over again. Frustrating. I also read 60 pages of The Remains of the Day. It's a little bit easier to read compared to Mrs. Dalloway. It's good so far I guess. Not much going on, but it's keeping me interested. That's really it. I wake up around 11:30 and then read for a long time and that's my day. Sad huh? I know. lol. Well, off to do more picture things. Oh I need a new layout. This has been up for months, the longest ever I think. 10:14PM

Woke up with a splitting headache today. A little more then an hour later, I threw up. Not food, but like water I had earlier and mucus I guess, lol. Lovely, I know. After that, I felt soo much better!! Had some crackers just in case, but ended up eating normal food for lunch and dinner. I finished Mrs. Dalloway today! Just now actually. I'm very happy, and now one more left to do! It's The Remains of the Day by Razuo Ishiguro. Mm, I hope it's good. Summary sounds good, but if I judged it by the cover, I'd pass on it. So I'll be starting that one tomorrow. I guess that's it today. 8:29PM

Mm yeah, long blog yesterday. I saw the movie today with Amber. I expected it to be complete crap from what I've heard. But I still wanted to go because it was filmed here and I wanted to recognize stuff. But, I enjoyed it. I liked it, yeah. It's no oscar movie, but I had fun watching it. Which is what movies should be about sometimes. When I came out of it, it made me want to drive really fast and do quick turns, lol. And before and after the movie, I've just been reading Mrs. Dalloway, trying to get to today's goal of 165. I'm on 142 right now. It takes me a while because it's these huge long paragraphs and the novel doesn't have any chapters so it just keeps going on and on. And it's small print and that makes it longer too. I like it though. It's like what people are thinking and it flows nicely from one person to another. I like it that way, nice change. Back I go. 9:19PM

(laterx2) I'm back! Here's how it went: I left the house and drove to City Newstand so I could buy a magazine that had anything to do with the Dukes of Hazzard. From what I could tell, there was nothing. So i'm like oh crap. I go over to Albertson's and buy a 2 pads of paper. Something for the actors to sign. lol. I drive as quickly as possible to the theatre where Amber had been waiting. I park so far away and find Amber. We walk around, check the area out, and we grab a spot next to the 'red carpet'. Basically a red tarp with duct tape. Wow, LA, wow. lol. So there really isn't any direction or plan or organization going on. It's just happening. Apparently some of the cast is there, but I don't really know who anyone is except the big named ones. But they weren't there, as expected. So Amber and I kinda just stood around or sat down or looked around, lol. I took some pictures and videos. Some people were interviewed and we stood in the background like we didn't know they were filming, lol. So we probably did make it on tv, but not on one of our stations. I did get an autographed picture from one guy though. I can't read his name though. The broken/hit car I talked about from earlier turned out to be at another movie theatre, lol. I'm not surprised actually. But the one here was in great shape. It was somewhat hot, I was sweating, but it wasn't horrendously hot. lol. There was actually a small breeze and we were in the shade, so the weather didn't cause a problem. We were there from about 6:10-7:50. I hit terrible traffic trying to get out of the place once again. So all in all, how was it? mmm. It was cool, but I didn't expect too much, and it was what I expected then. We were tempted to yell, omg!! It's Jessica!!!! lol. And we heard one lady say, I've just heard that Jessica is on her way here. Amber and I just look at each other and say um, no. She was in NY this morning and it's not the bigger named people coming. So here is the link to the pictures/video/scan. 10:56PM
--(later) Grr. Bugger. Gah... I thought I had a magazine, but I don't. The Premiere I have is for Star Wars. I must be thinking of GQ or something, I saw the 3 of them on the cover of somewhere. So. I'm going to have to hit up City Newstand before I go. I got some gas and was planning on taking another trip over to the theater, but mom was like no, don't go make the special trip to the far away gas station, go closer, so the plan was nixed out. Then I thought, oh well I want to see it, but turns out the damn pump didn't make it a full tank. My car says not to top it off, so I don't and of course when I probably want/need it the most to be as high as possible, it doesn't get there. So since I was low already, not too much, but enough for the extra trip to not be worth using the gas on. So. I brought the camera for nothing, lol. So. I guess I'll be getting in the shower within an hour or so, so I must now try to read 25 more pages to get to my goal of the day for Mrs. Dalloway. Which is better than I expected. 3:46PM
--This is Maggie and here is a plug for you too Vicki since I mentioned your name in yesterday's blog. As you could see it was 8:30 and I was far too lazy to put in the links, I apologize, lol. A very exciting thing is happening tonight!! There is going to be a small premiere for the Dukes of Hazzard at a movie theatre that is less then 15 minutes away from my house!! Sooo. Amber shall go with me. And I just got back from taking a trip to the movie theatre to see if they had started setting up yet. Nope. I was like aww, and aww again because a movie had just gotten out and I was stuck in 20mins worth of parking lot/pulling out traffic. But! At the gas station a few hundred feet away I saw the orange car!! I was like, alright! There it is!! lol. It was trying to cross the traffic, but backed up instead and like disappeared, it was weird. But before it did disappear I saw the right front bumper/tire area and it was smashed something awful. I was like, oh no!! I felt bad. lol. I'm not sure if they crash the car in the movie, and I imagine there is more then one car, but I really don't know if it was from the movie or if it got into an accident somewhere on it's premiere tour. It was on a trailer being pulled by a truck, and nothing was wrong with that, but that car did not look good. And it looked perfectly fine from the left side, when I first saw it. I'm willing to bet that they will show the good side. Obvious really, lol. But yeah. It was pretty cool and got me excited. Hadn't seen the car since earlier this year when I saw it on the interstate, and it was much farther away. So I left the theatre and got some McDonalds but got stuck in their traffic for lunch!! Crazy. Then I came home and now here I am, lol. I'm excited. I've read that there won't be any big named celebrities like Jessica or Seann or Johnny or Burt or anyone like that, just the smaller part-Louisiana actors. But hey, I think the others should go because they filmed here and I've never seen a premiere done here before. Not that I know of though. So I'll maybe go check back around 3, come back and get in the shower and then meet Amber. I'm bringing a digital camera, so don't worry, there will be pictures. And maybe some magazine I have, Premiere, I think it is. Nice coincidence, lol. I'll probably have 2-3 more updates later today. 1:43PM

First off, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAGGIE!!!! Hope it is awesome, and you hope you get what we talked about. ;D lol. So this mushroom: I have to say is amazing. lol. It's just so huge compared to what I've seen. It's too cool. So, here are too pictures. One: As you can see, it's taller then Lexi! Two: And it looks awesome!!! But really, how big is it? Well, thanks to Vicki, I went out and measured the thing. The one picture Two is about 7.5 inches tall, and 6.5 inches wide at it's widest point. So for our metric friends out there 19 cm tall by 16.5 cm ish? Sound right? And there is a second one that is 7 in tall and 6 in wide, so almost 18 cm tall and 15 cm ish. So yeah, pretty big! They are starting to turn brown though, :( Not as white as it was yesterday. We also had a big thunderstorm today that knocked out our power for over an hour. That wouldn't be so bad if we didn't live down here. So it got hot very quickly, and was just nasty. Earlier I went to school to hand in some papers and get a schedule change. I'm hopefully going to be signed up for Astronomy Online instead of Biology II. I have no problem with Bio, I love it. I wanted it to be AP and it's not so I don't need it or want it anymore. The class is full, but I should be first on the waiting list and they expect someone to drop it. She couldn't sign me up while I was there because she couldn't get in, so I'll have to cal the school tomorrow morning. And... that's it! 8:30PM

The Alaskan trip pictures! Happy Aug2 everyeone! If you don't know what that is, check the link above, the unofficial day to stay up all night! And there is still time to join, so don't miss out! lol. Anyway. I woke up around 12 ish today. Got in the shower eventually and then went out to get some lunch. Came home and mom called saying okay let's go to the mall. But I just got some food. Marielle! Why did you do that? I was hungry. You couldn't have done that earlier? No, we lost power. Why does that matter? My hair. No blow dry workage. Oh. ... Grr. Well, call me when you are done. So I ate and called mom and met her at the mall. Yeah, we lost power today. For about 5 minutes. And of course right when I was drying my hair. And it was enough to do it's damage and totally mess it up. Oh well. That's why I wear ponytails lol. So yeah, met her there. We went to Hollister and did some damage!! I got 5 shirts, and 2 pairs of jeans. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [1] [2] Couldn't find two shirts actually. Then we went to Express, too expensive even with the $20 off every jean deal. Went to Charlotte Russe and I got two pairs of jeans. Amsterdam & London by Refuge. Then I got the American Photo magazine since it never got to my house a new issue is coming out soon. Then checked out Bath & Body Works, decided we didn't need the 5 for $10 hand soap lol and left. Mom picked up Jason's Deli and I went home. We ate and later watched Big Brother. Oh crap!! I missed Reno 911 and Stella. Damnit. I always forget. Oh well, I'll catch it later since I'm staying up all night. Good luck people! I fixed the chat room, so you can go here. 10:15PM

Next will be Mrs. Dalloway. Which is about 200 pages, and small ish print. It's the novel that inspired The Hours, which from what I remember was a depressing movie. So eh. We'll see what happens. Tomorrow mom says she taking me shopping for school! She came into my room around the 1:45 time and said do you want to get some clothes? I'll pay for them. She might try to pull a fast one on me tomorrow about me paying, but ah hah I heard her, lol. And expect a huge update in Scanned. I want to do a big one before I go back to school, because I won't know the next chance I'll get. How huge? Mm. Maybe a hundred or so scans. I've got like 52 scanned into the computer now. Doing a little bit each day. 10:39PM
