Basically this day was super hot. I enjoy the AC at work and as soon as I get home where there is none, but I'm sweating and miserable. Nick and I had some salad with chicken on top. It was yummy, but I was hungry again later. Well, more than normal. So I had to snack a little later. We watched some tv and I went to sleep early. However I had a difficult time sleeping because it was like 88 degrees in the apartment. No kidding. 9:12PM

I had work today even though today was the official first day of classes at UVM. Part of me finds it strange that I'm not returning to school. Nick's taking a German class though. I walked today since my calf is still pretty sore from hiking. I keep trying to stretch it out to get it back to normal as fast as possible. When I got out of work, Nick was there outside! He had visited Flatbread a little earlier and stopped by to "pick" me up! How nice! So we walked home together. When we got home we made tacos and they were delicious. Mmm and I was so hungry, so they were extra good. We watched some tv and that was our night. Oh and it's super hot hear again. And looks like the next three or so days will be in the 90s, yikes. I'm not looking forward to that, but on the other hand, that should be pretty much be it as far as heat. 8:04PM

We woke up, had breakfast. I got a new teakettle. So I cleaned it up and tried it out. I was expecting a high pitched whistle, but it made this loud and low type of whistle that scared me haha. Once we were set, we drove over to Nick's house to drop a few things off. We got some spices and things from his dad too. We then went over to Price Chopper for our groceries. We came home and unloaded everything. I then was going to start laundry, but someone was using the machines. So I began to watch some taped stuff, like 3 hours of Project Runway. I eventually got in to do some laundry. Nick began cooking this beer beef stew in the afternoon. He's been wanting something like this for a few weeks now, so that's why we got some spices from his dad. After a few hours, it was done and we ate that for dinner. It was good, but it's a little too warm out for this, but it was definitely a nice change. We watched some tv and I was off to bed after 10. 8:00PM


August 28, 2010
I woke up around 9 and got dressed. Today Nick and I would go hiking. I searched online for some possibilities. I found a trail that seemed good in Stowe. It was free to get in and seemed a little difficult and was a reasonable distance. We drove over there and the parking area was surprisingly busy. It was a nice day and I guess summer is almost over, but still. We begin our hike and I took some pictures as well. It started off pretty easily with a little incline. We stepped on and over lots of rocks/boulders. We saw a snake, but then it started getting super steep and you had to walk on these big rocks instead as steps. It was really difficult. I was breathing extremely hard. I felt like a smoker or something. It took an hour and a half to go 1.5 miles and we went up 1500 ft in elevation. We reached the summit, finally. I thought we never would. We took a break up there, had some snacks and water. I took some pictures. I brought moo katie along and we took a picture of her up there. After 15-20 minutes we left to go back downhill. It was much easier, but it still got an hour to get down. It was a fun trip, but a huge workout. I've never done a hike that steep or even with so many rocks and stuff to climb up and over. Hard work. I was tired so Nick drove us to the Alchemist which is his favorite bar in the area and it was close. He got some beers and I had a soda. We split some fries and after a bit were on our way back home. I drove. We got back to Burlington and just relaxed. We each took a shower. Nick napped. I went through pictures and then it was dinner time. The meat we had was bad so we drove to McDonalds. We ate too much and came home. We watched a bunch of tv, At the end we were watching Part 2 of the HBO Katrina special but I nearly feel asleep during it like 10 times. At last, I could go to sleep once it was over lol. 10:05PM

The sorority got together today to help move in freshmen. I on the other hand have a big girl job and was busy with that lol. I did that event last year and I worked harder moving in other kids than I ever did for myself. It was exhausting last year and we got a nice t-shirt as a reward, but still. Not to sad to be missing out on that. I came home after work and called home for a little bit. I cooked a pizza and watched 5 hours of DVRed stuff and taped another 2.5 hours on top of that. That's why it takes forever for us to catch up haha. I got super tired as usual around 11 and went to sleep early. 9:58PM

Wow, it's a month to my birthday, when I turn 23. Yikes! My boss came back to work today and we went on our normal lunch outing for salads. After work Nick and I made chicken pasta roni which was delicious. I just love that stuff. Normally I get sick of alfredo sauce, but this stuff isn't too overpowering and it's just good. 9:56PM

Work was fine. After I came home Nick and I finally got to cooking my shrimp etouffee dinner. It took a little bit getting the paste going and cooking the rice. Finally the dinner that I had been wanted to making since Sunday was finally made lol. It was pretty decent too. We watched some tv, but otherwise had a pretty normal night. 9:54PM

During my lunch break at work I walked over and voted in the VT primaries. I was registered at my Junior year address, so the location was super convenient. But they made me change my address for next time and now I have to go vote super far away. I wish I could just go anywhere. After work I was preparing to make the dinner that I wanted to make Sunday night, but I get a text from Sophie saying to come over. Her birthday dinner was tonight and I thought it was Friday for some reason. Ahh. So I threw some clothes back on and walked over. I checked out her apartment. It's nice, but the bedrooms are tinier than dorm rooms. Even for a "single." Again, making me feel as though Nick and I have something better still. She finally finished getting dressed. I rode with Sophie and Brittany to Koto. We finally got a table and some other people showed up. It was a hibachi place and they unfortunately threw stuff at my face. I left it bounce off my mouth and continued my meal. Humiliating. Anyway dinner was ok. I ordered what I thought was one thing, which turned out to be something else lol. They dropped me back off at home and I went to bed shortly after because it was bedtime. She turned 20, she's a youngin! 10:00PM

I had work. I drove. I came home and Nick was on a booze cruise with CEO/owner guy of Samuel Adams beer. His friend got an extra ticket somehow. I made ravioli for dinner and watched the Katrina documentary on HBO by Spike Lee. I just wanted to see what's been going down. Nick came home and his friend Travis did too. They watched a little tv and I went to sleep lol. 9:55PM

I slept in until 10! I woke up, saw the time and was shocked. I thought I'd be up by 8 and showered up so I can make it to the stores at 10. Nope! Well I got all dressed and had breakfast. I drove over to the UMall and went to Express because I had money to spend. I tried on four shirts and all four were bad. I made one more combination and liked that so I got it. I saved about $35 from the whole total. Yay. I then drove over to the grocery store and as I was shopping I ran into Sumeera who has come back for school at UVM. She's in the sorority. We talked for like 15 minutes and then went back to shopping. I kept running back and forth all over the store, I think I was there for like an hour and a half somehow haha. Checking out took forever as well. I finally come home, drop the stuff off and park the car. I put the groceries and things away and wait for Nick to come home from his trip. He's been in New Hampshire for the weekend with some friends and I just didn't care to go and plus I had work and they wanted to leave at noon. I watched tv, read my magazines that I was behind on. Did a little dusting and did the dishes. By the time Nick got home, I had a headache and my dinner that I had planned to make would be put on hold. He wasn't hungry anyway. I instead made a little tuna sandwich with some pickles. We watched Sunday shows and I went to sleep. 9:53PM


August 21, 2010
I woke up, got cleaned up and began loads upon loads of laundry. I did three loads, but one had to get washed again because I dropped it on mud that's in the basement. It took three hours and I must have walked back and forth like 30 times. But it's done. I had some lunch and walked over to MAC to stock up on some eye shadow that I'm either out or really close to being out of. I came back and then just relaxed for the rest of the day. I had more pizza leftovers for dinner. 10:46PM

I called home when I got out of work and talked for a really long time. I ordered a pizza for dinner from Domino's and had to run to Rite Aid for some freaking toothpaste. I nearly didn't do that because I didn't feel like waking to Rite Aid, but I decided I would like dealing with nasty teeth when I go to sleep, versus minty fresh. I caught up on all my tv and went to sleep. I didn't do laundry as I normally do because I was too occupied with talking on the phone. That's ok though. I'll be doing it soon enough. 10:10PM

Pay day, yay. I like organizing and dividing up my money into exciting categories. We cooked a little steak of ham for dinner. I did some paperwork stuff and then watched some tv. Nothing else exciting occurred. 10:08PM

My boss is away for the rest of the week at his daughter's wedding. So I was a little nervous having full control while he was gone. Nervous that something may need to be done that I don't know how to do/something that he usually takes care of/the more professional/skilled stuff that I'm not trained or knowledgeable enough to do. But today went smoothly though. People visited me so I wouldn't be too lonely and no issues, yay! After work I called home and talked for a while and then I made mac and cheese. And that was it. 10:3PM

I did a little moving at work today. I'm proud because I dismantled two computers with 4 monitors and put them back together successfully. A lot more complicated then ones I've had at home! After work I got to move the car into a new location. It's a little safer, has some video cameras set up to watch the lot. But the car is more likely to get dinged from next door parking people since it's also a little tight. I just can't seem to win with this parking situation. Nick was making a chicken pot pie in the meantime. I'm not in to them so much, but he likes them so we buy it ever once and a while. This one was actually not that bad. We watched some tv and called it a night. 10:00PM

Back to the work week. After work I came home to Nick making some salmon, in the microwave. Oh well. I guess at this point I didn't have any control over the situation lol. We had some salad too and that was our dinner. We of course watched some tv later. 9:56PM

I woke up and made some pancakes because again I wanted to eat some. They were yummy and once I was done I got showered up. We left for Costco to get some water for me and soap for Nick. I also bought some batteries too. While in the check out line we saw a former MIS teacher, who we liked a lot and had a class with him twice, Novak. He tapped me on the shoulder and I barely recognized him under his hat and different facial hair. haha I have to say that's happened to me numerous times. I see a professor our of the teaching environment and I just don't recognize them lol. We then decided to go to Shaw's since it was across the street versus driving far to Price Chopper. But we had a difficult time finding some food items and had to change some meals around, which kind of stresses me out. We came home, unloaded and parked the car. We watched some tv and a movie and when it was dinner time we picked up some food from Chili's. I just didn't feel like cooking and wanted a burger. We got free chips and salsa since we called on our cell phone and we came home. We watched some tv and relaxed because we were still tired from our big day yesterday. 9:55PM

I woke up at 7 and got ready. Today we would drive to New York to visit the six flags theme park/water park called the Great Escape. We got on the road around 8:50 and turned around because Nick forgot to grab the tickets. This is the second instance this has happened now. Luckily we were just five minutes away. We drove more and stopped at a rest area. Nick got coffee but on his way out he some how made the cup explode. It was so funny. He went back in to refill it to the top and we were on our way haha. We arrived and they directed where we ought to park. We were there around 11:30 and they had opened up at 10, and it was over capacity for the parking. So we got lucky. We got in and found a locker. We weren't sure if we would do water things, but brought our stuff just in case. Oh and I put a ton of suntan lotion on. We found a ride to try and it wasn't anything special, but it was the longest one we were in all day. It was good though. We then went over to a log flume ride and that went pretty fast. It was fun. I screamed a little. Then we would try an upside down/barrel turn roller coaster. Nick hasn't really ever been on something like that, but I had sorta recently, like back in 2006, tried these rides in Universal. So that line went fast and it was a lot of fun. I screamed a lot. We made a bathroom break and went to find food. We were already pretty beat. We got some chicken and fries and I got a big soda. I got so full and still didn't finish. I was sweating a ton too. We did a digesting ride. It was like an old little car track ride. Nick drove the car and we had fun. We then did bumper cars and walked around some more. We then got in line for the big old wooden roller coaster in the back called The Comet. Apparently it's from like 1939 and it's apparently really good. It looked alright, long and fun, but I guess I had no idea. This was the only ride that I held onto Nick to and omg it was nuts. The first drop felt like we would tip over. I thought it would never end. And it was super intense. They took a picture of us and I saw it afterward and it was hilarious. I should have bought it, I really regret that. I had a wide mouth with my eyes tightly shut screaming and Nick had like big eyes and an open mouth too haha. Really funny. Anyway so we thought about what to do next. I guess I didn't feel like getting into water and it was getting later and so we walked around and looked at games and stuff. Considered doing another ride, but left around 4:30 I guess. We drove back but stopped at the Bobcat Cafe for dinner. I got a caesar salad and garlic mashed potatoes and it was soo good. So good. We also had bread at the table. Yum! We left and came home and fell asleep just after 10 haha. 10:08PM

It's Friday! I had a good day and work and as soon as I got home I did some laundry. The basement is full of mud from rain storms, yuck. Nick and I stayed in and watched some tv but I passed out just after 11. Actually, I think it was even sooner than that. We were watching tv and I just fell asleep haha. 10:00PM

Sorry I haven't been updating, but I've been busy with work and then I barely get online when I get home. But Nick made some pasta roni with chicken and I was ready for that meal. It was so good and I was starving this night. We watched our Thursday night tv shows and I went to bed early. 9:50PM

Nick was on a roll still with cooking dinner for when I get home from work. Tonight he made spaghetti and meatballs. It's nice, but he keeps making mistakes over things I usually take care of haha. Like he thought I always cooked the meatballs in the microwave, but I put them in the sauce pot. It was still yummy as always though. 9:45PM

After work I went out to eat with co-workers and it was really nice. I had a very nice time getting to know more people. Dinner was yummy too. I got home and relaxed a little but it was bedtime before I knew it. 9:34PM

We got our groceries in the morning and spent the rest of the day watching movies and tv. At one point we went to City Market looking for strawberries, but they were out. So we came back home and just watched our Sunday shows but I had to get right to bed at 10. 9:32PM

Today was a busy day. I got up and made pancakes for breakfast. I had been wanting some for a while so I decided today was the day. They were yummy, but I realized I need some sort of gravy dish like thing to put syrup in so that I can heat it up and easily pour it. I got into the shower after that. When I was ready I walked to Church Street to return a shirt at the Loft because it had to be hand washed and I couldn't throw it into the washer anyway because it had this like chain necklace thing attached and that would just get caught. So, I returned it. I then picked up my four pairs of pants I got hemmed two weeks ago and tried them on. They turned out nicely. Meanwhile Nick was preparing all kinds of bottles so that he could bottle his beer today. When they were clean, we left to run some errands. We stopped at Staples so I could buy a big binder in order to organize all of my bills and other important documents. We then went to Bed, Beth, & Beyond to return the little drying rack I bought for the bigger one. I didn't see it, so we just made the return. We stopped at Petco to look at kitties and puppies and then at Wal-Mart for drying racks. Nothing came up. All they have are little wood ones you have to build yourself and I want a big chrome one. Grr. We drove to K-Mart and it was the same situation. Oh well, guess I'll order one online. We got some lunch at McDonalds and then came home. I helped Nick bottle his beer. After that I was going to organize my stuff when I realized Staples charged me ten dollars too much. Grr. Back on the road I get to fix this. I do and come back home. I watched a bunch of recorded tv and finally caught up on it. I organized my 3 inch binder and it's like 2/3 full. Already! I had a lot! We had some pizza for dinner and that was it. 11:01PM

I got out of work on Friday and came straight home. Nick was down at the Alchemist because he was given a $25 gift certificate from someone at work. He was back around 7 and we had some leftovers and watched some tv. I became really tired around 11 and feel asleep haha. And that was my night. 10:54PM

The weeks are still flying by! I got paid today, woohoo. My second paycheck! Work was good. Went out for lunch with my boss again today. After work it was still pretty hot in the apartment so we tried cooling it off by opening some windows up. It was 86 inside, but a tiny bit cooler outside. I cooked jambalaya and did some dishes while I was waiting. I got through a bunch of tv recordings and did a little reading too. 10:00PM

A pretty uneventful week otherwise. It was a rainy and hot day today that's for sure. I worked and after work I came home and Nick was making some chicken that would be used in our quesadillas. They were really yummy when we were done with them. 9:58PM

We heard about a special deal going on at Winooski Beverage so after our dinner of pork chops (which Nick started making before I came home, hehe) we went to see if the special still was available. It wasn't. So instead I got two packs of skittles and Nick got a beer. I've been wanting some skittles for a while now haha. We came home and did the regular thing. 9:57PM

I got ready and Nick started watching a movie. But once we were set, we went out to get some groceries. Nick couldn't remember where the car was parked, but I did! We drove home, unloaded, and then he wanted to finish watching the movie he had started. I finally completed my catching up of DVRed tv. We watched some more movies though, two of them. We had left overs for dinner. Oh! My big news of the day. While at the grocery store, I saw in the freezer section my favorite Smart Ones dish had returned! But under a different name. I bought it and had it for lunch and it was definitely the same meal. It's seriously been years since I've had it. The meal is now Lasagna Bake with Meat Sauce, but use to be Lasagna Bolognese. It's so yummy. It must be 5-6 or 7 years. So I'm really pumped to be able to buy these again. 10:00PM
