I got up and went in for a second interview. It went pretty well, so we shall see what happens now. I came home and then got picked up my Sophie for a little lunch. We went to Mirabelle's. I got some breakfast and it came out on two plates! I got a slice of french toast, fruit, 4 slices of bacon, a giant slice of hasbrowns, and two eggs scrambled. Wow! I didn't think it'd be that much lol. I ate almost all of it too haha. After an hour she dropped me back off at home. I got my laundry together and drove the car over to the apartment so I could load it in the car. I get in the car to drive to the laundromat and my car won't start. Noooo! It's been a month since it's acted up. I brought my stuff back in and tried again a few times. Eventually it started and I drove it over to the dealership to get worked on. Ugh. I at last got a shuttle back home. We still needed laundry done so I tried the apartment facilities. In the past the dryer wouldn't dry, that's why I went elsewhere. But it dried! Yay! So I guess I'll do it all here now. We made chicken rice a roni for dinner and that was it! 10:33PM

Still looking online for jobs to apply to, but it's become difficult. It is getting slightly cooler though. But I stayed in today. Once he got home from work we were super hungry so I made a big portion of mac and cheese for dinner. Really nothing else happened. 10:23PM

Woo it was a hot one today. But I had a horrible horrible headache. It's definitely sinus stuff. One side of my head hurts, in my face. I rested on the couch because I just couldn't function. Finally in the early afternoon I felt better. I went to Home Depot because the part didn't fit, but I got the right piece this time. That's right. :D I came home and waited for Nick. He wanted to brew some beer so he got to it once he got home. Now this involves hours and hours of boiling which makes for a very hot apartment. We tried opening some windows and a door or two, but it didn't work. It was so very hot. I made dinner in the microwave so I wouldn't use the stove lol. I helped him all night long. It took twice as long as normal, but at least we finished before 11. 10:27PM

Nick spent the night in Stowe, or well camped in a friends back yard. No thanks if you ask me lol. Well he came home really early and I got up after a while and got ready for the day. We first drove over to his dads house to drop the tent he used back off. We then went to Home Depot trying to find a part to hook a tube to the sink. We left and went to Price Chopper for our groceries. At last we got home. I ate my doughtnut and went through the paper. We watched some tv and just relaxed for once. Well him mostly. We had the rest of the pizza I ate from last night and cooked some cheesey breadsticks. We watched some Sunday night shows and that was it. 10:15PM

Well I woke up at 8:30 to get ready for the day. Sophie came to pick me up at the apartment and we went down the road a bit to her favorite bagel place. I just got a regular plain bagel with butter. Which was good, but I couldn't fit in one with say meat and eggs. It was good. I had some chocolate milk too. We stayed and talked there for like an hour. She dropped me back off at home and I took a little nap while Nick studied some German. He left to go with his beer buddies to Stowe and I just spent the day at home. I made pizza for dinner and watched a movie on HBO. 10:52PM

I got up and did the normal routine. Once I was ready I went to the post office to buy some new stamps. Nick used up the rest of them when he mailed out his thank you cards. I also mailed the electric bill woohoo. I also went to Pearl Street to buy some milk and candy since I've been wanting something fruity: I got skittles. I looked for jobs and did the usual thing. I went with Nick to the homebrew supply store when he got off work. I helped him pick out some ingrediants and things. He needed to go home to grab a few things so I cooked pork chops for dinner. And that was pretty much it! Nick and I hung out for the night and it was nice. 10:45PM

I finally heard back from places I applied to months ago. I had given up on them, and they were no's. Although they were so polite with it haha. I still looked for new ones though. My 20 mosquito bites are finally doing better. When I got home from Maine I sprayed bactine on them so I wouldn't scratch, but as a result they turned dark purple. I thought they would go to black and my foot would fall off. Mom told me not to worry lol. She was right, they are finally beginning to look normal again, but I was still worried! For dinner I had a cheeseburger and so did Nick. They're from Costco, yum. 10:41PM

I woke up a little earlier than normal to get ready for my interview. I went to it and stayed for an hour. I thought it went incredibly well so we shall see what happens. I came home after and had lunch. I felt tired and got a little headache so I decided to take a nap. I go online when I wake up and discover there has been an earthquake in Canada and apparently people here in Burlington felt it! I didn't because I was asleep. Nick has said before to me, that this type of thing has happened before. Crazy though! I still continued to look for jobs but didn't find any today. It was pretty warm today in the apartment. Nick tried opening the storm window but it's stuck. We made tacos for dinner and also tried to catch up on some DVRed tv. 10:36PM

I did my normal thing today. I applied to two jobs today. I actually heard back from one shockingly enough. I'll be going in for an interview tomorrow. It's kind of a fancy place so I decided to go get my hair cut. Finally. It hasn't been cut since January back in Baton Rouge and I just haven't felt like dealing with trying to find a new person up here. It's kind of a nightmare for me lol. So I went out to a place I thought I'd try, but they had closed. I went to a place in the mall and they shampooed, cut, and dried my hair in less than 20 minutes haha. The ends are nicer. I probably won't go back, but it was good for last minute. I came home and shortly after I walked with Nick back downtown. He was going to meet his mom for dinner and I wanted Boloco. I got that and brought it home. It was delicious and I was barely able to get the last bite in. I watched a movie on HBO and just called it a night. 10:41PM

I woke up around 8 just as Nick was leaving for work. I decided to get up. I had breakfast and began to catch up on all my job listings. I hadn't checked while I was gone so it took a while. I applied to three. I went to Rite Aid and got some makeup remover. I almost didn't get the kind I wanted, but I saw it in a different spot! Yay! I feel like I always have a difficult time getting that stuff here. Nick came home early since it was his work orientation day. We went to Price Chopper for groceries and it wasn't busy, yay. We came home and watched some tv. I made spaghetti and meatballs later. We were going to have TruMoo with our dinner, which is chocolate milk that is very delicious. Well, it tasted bad. And turns out the sell by day was June 15th, sooo almost a full week over lol. So we got rid of that, but how disappointing. We wanted some. Oh well. Dinner was good though. Nick went to sleep early and I watched my shows. 10:37PM


June 20, 2010
I woke up at 7:10 to be down for breakfast at 8:30. We came back up to the room when we finished and I packed up the last of my things. Nick and I loaded the car with our stuff and we went back inside the hotel to say goodbye to everyone. We did just that and left the hotel at 9:10. We were taking one of his aunts along because she needed to be dropped off at the Portland airport. We got there after an hour and said goodbye to her. We continued on our route. I was very tired, but refused to sleep. Nick's dad felt tired and he was the one driving. Again, imagine if we had stayed out even later! We stopped in New Hampshire at a liquor store. I got $6 in scratch offs. I didn't win anything, but I almost went to Las Vegas this week/weekend instead so I figured I would have spent a lot more than $6. We stopped a little ways down the road at a gas station and got some snacks. I got two little slim jims lol. Then we stopped right on the border of New Hampshire and Vermont to sit down for lunch! These were all back to back. They needed a break. Lunch was good, but I got a very messy sandwich. We got back on the road and we stopped again at a gas station for gas and some people got drinks. That was the last and final stop and we finally got back to Burlington. We were dropped off at 4:30. It was a long day. This road trip really only takes just under 5 hours, but we did it in 7 hours. Too much for me lol. When I was unpacked I went with Nick to get a Sunday newspaper. We decided we wouldn't go to the grocery store because we were too tired and just wanted to stay put. We came back and I took a shower to cool off. I was so incredibly hot during the trip. I was in the sun and the windows were down the entire time and I felt like the wind just kept banging into my head and gave me a headache. Once I was cooler, Nick and I sat down to watch some tv and I cooked a pizza for dinner. I just wanted to throw something in and be done. It was yummy yummy. We watched some Sunday shows and went to sleep on time. 10:34PM


June 19, 2010
I got up again at 7:30 and went down to breakfast at 9. We left for the grandparents house around 10:30 and hung around there for a long time. At one point we left to go to the house of the person who had died to check it out / remember him. It was an old old old farmhouse. It was neat because it was so old. We looked around the grounds and some people told stories and stuff. People were going through his things to see if they wanted anything. Some of the adults took tools or pictures. We left after an hour, again I was super hot and felt hungry again. We came back to the house and had lunch. Nick and I hung around the couch for a number of hours. I took a nap for two hours and then while people were at church, my group when to a beer store to get more beer. I didn't. I got some sour skittles lol. We stopped at Wal-Mart because they needed some strawberries. We came back to the house and it was all decorated to surprise the grandparents. It's their 57th anniversary and they got a cake and a card and stuff. We wait around and at last they come back from church. Dinner is brought there as well. It's from a place called Red Barn and it's all fried food. I was excited to get some fried food. It was pretty good. The chicken and food didn't have much flavor/spices to it, but it was tasty and filling. I decided to stay inside while it was nighttime because I was tired of being eaten by mosquitoes. I've got about 15 bites. 10 of which are on my left leg from the knee to the toes. I put on mosquito repellent, but it's not working. I'm even killing them I'm so fed up with the bugs. But people kept leaving the screen door open and they would fly in. Eventually I put on pants, and a jacket and put the hood on my head to be completely covered. I then put a blanket over my exposed feet and waited to go back to the hotel. Nick was falling asleep but we at last convinced them to go back. It was around 11:45 around this time and I'm sure they would have rather stay there for a few more hours, but we had a really early start tomorrow morning, so we needed to get to sleep. I got to sleep around 12:30 this night. 11:29PM

I got up at 7:30, still very tired after little sleep. I got ready and went down to breakfast at 9. We stayed down there waiting around for people to finish chatting. We went back up after 10 and Nick did something for one of his relatives with his computer. Our little group left the hotel and went to a few stores looking for cinnamon sticks and honey. Once we had them we went to the grandparents house and Nick and I took our seat on the couch and sat there for a long time. Around 1:15-1:30 in the afternoon we got into our cars and went to a cemetery for the memorial service. That was at 2 and it was incredibly hot and sunny. Just as it was finishing I had to walk away from the group and go sit down. I felt I was about to pass out, or "white" out. I was in nice dark jeans and it was 90 degrees out and sunny. I sat down trying to not draw attention to myself. I felt better and went back over to meet up with Nick. I felt relieved we were leaving to go back to the house because I felt very weak. We did stop quickly at the hotel so Nick and I could change out of pants and into something cooler. We at last got back to the house and when we got there I chugged down a whole soda and waited for the lunch buffet to be served. We dug right into that and I felt very full and felt much better. Nick and I sat on the couch for the rest of the day. Dinner was served, just leftovers. We went outside to hang around the fire pit they had created in the backyard, but I guess I got bit up by a ton of mosquitoes. They were really really bad. I was totally exhausted, and we finally left around 1:30 again and asleep around 2. 11:23PM

i got up and did my normal routine. Although around noon I began to pack my duffel bag. I'll be going with Nick and his dad to Maine for a family get together/memorial service for someone who died a while back. His dad picked us up just before 5 and we went over to Winooski Beverage. They got some beer and then we picked up a fourth person. We then stopped at a gas station to get a few snacks. I got a tiny bag of peanuts. Not much time had passed and we stopped in Montpelier for dinner. We're getting nowhere fast lol. So we sit down, order some food and eat it up when it comes. We get back on the road around 7:30 and drive for a long period of time. We took back roads that cut across Vermont, New Hampshire, and into Maine. Some parts were extremely under construction. We stopped at a gas station around 11 to get more snacks/take a bathroom break. I got an ice cream and at last around 11:30 we arrived at our destination. We were at the grandparents house. We said hello and I got to meet everyone which was nice. However, I was very tired and we stayed over there until 1:30. We at last left and came to the hotel. We checked in and Nick and I went straight to sleep exhausted at 2am. 11:16PM

Nick had his first day of official salaried work today at the business school. I stayed home and looked for jobs, but I also had some things to do today. I went downtown to do laundry and while that was going on I walked over to Rite Aid and got him some thank you cards. I finished the laundry up and brought it home. I later did the dishes. When Nick came home, I helped him hang up my big picture that I got framed several weeks ago. It's gigantic but looks good up! We had leftover mac and cheese for dinner along with some ham. We also tried to tackle some of the DVRed tv he has. We're slowing getting there! He was pretty tired so we got into bed just after 10 lol. 9:48PM

Well I just could not sleep. I woke up at 1:30, then 2:30, and at last I got up at 3:30am. I got up, got dressed and checked some things on the computer. I got a text from Nick saying they were late and I discovered it was about 25 minutes late. So I stayed home for an additional 25 minutes. I left around 4:15 to head over to the airport. I parked and waited for the bus to pull in. By this time, believe it or not, the sun was already coming up and it was getting brighter and brighter. I saw the bus, walked over and met up with him. Yay! We walked back to the car and came home. I got back into bed, but I was wayyy to awake by this point so he unpacked and showed me all of his goodies. He gave me like 6 postcards from everywhere which is awesome. And he gave me a magnet from Holland that has a windmill and two little cows underneath it! Moo katies! haha, it's great. He also got me a wool headband thing from Iceland which is very nice. I requested a sweater, but they were too much oopsies. We were getting hungry so we decided to go out to breakfast at Sneakers. We went right when it opened, at 7 lol. Breakfast was delicious and very filling. We stopped by my bank to change the rest of his money over and I got some quarters for laundry. We came home and I took a shower and then became really tired. I slept for two hours and woke up at 10:30. Nick was watching some of his DVRed tv shows and he fell asleep for like 4 hours! I woke him up at 3 so as to try to get him back on the right schedule. We watched some more tv and then made dinner: baked chicken and mac and cheese. It was good good. We went to sleep around 11 I guess. 10:46PM

I looked for jobs again to apply to start off my day. I tidied up a bit anticipating Nick's return tomorrow morning. He's been in all over in Europe for the past three weeks and that's why I haven't mentioned anything about him. Today he flew from Iceland to Boston and got in around 6:30, We finally spoke to one another over the phone for the first time since his departure. He told me about his trip for maybe 2 hours. I made jambalaya for dinner and watched some tv. I also moved my car to my old parking space overnight because I'd have to wait up in the middle of the night to pick Nick up. He's taking the bus from Boston to Burlington. I'm excited! 11:59PM

Grocery day! Woohoo! I got up, got cleaned up and left for the grocery store. Luckily this week it wasn't raining like crazy. I do my shopping and they take forever to check out, but I come back home once I'm done. I hand around the apartment for the rest of the day reading my Food & Wine magazine. For dinner I had the rest of the spaghetti and watched the Tony Awards on tv. 11:56PM

I got up, got dressed to go out to the farmer's market for something to do. As I leave the house I see the blood on the ground, gross. They attempted to clean it up, but mostly just smeared it around gross. I walked downtown and looked around. I didn't want anything. I went to Homeport to see if they sold slipcovers, but they don't. I went to Starbucks and got a little drink a piece of their coffeecake I love. I came home and called home. I got two magazines, finally, in the mail. I've waiting to get them to occupy my time with. I read through one totally today too lol. 250 pages, cover to cover. I later made some spaghetti for dinner and watched some tv. 10:55PM

It's Friday but nothing went on with me. I looked online for jobs. Things really start to slow down online once the weekend is in sight. I had some pizza for lunch and then did the dishes and cleaned out some trash. I had the last slice of pizza for dinner and that was that. I was watching tv in bed and just as I was getting settled and ready to go to sleep the girls upstairs showed up and were extremely loud. Apparently one was totally wasted. She fell somewhere no the street and was bleeding everywhere. They finally get the door open try to get her upstairs, but she tumbles back down. They get her up there and try to clean her up, but she screams it burns, it burnss. So annoying. Then she kept like moaning and hollaring very loudly. It was nuts and very annoying. 11:59PM

I'm constantly checking for new job updates throughout the day. I see some that get filled and apply to some more. I mean, it took a month last year to find a retail job, a new bigger better job could take longer, sadly. The sun's starting to set around 9pm which I like. So much better then when it happens around 4 in the winter. I made a pizza for dinner and it was just not good. Normally it is, so I'm a little disappointed. Now I've got to get through these leftovers! 9:55PM

I woke up early today and felt a big headache coming on. I went back to sleep to try to fight it off, but it didn't work. I felt miserable all day. I just relaxed until it finally went around in the late afternoon. I applied to some jobs. I had a hot dog for lunchy and then pork chops with my leftover rice a roni for dinner. I watched some tv to close out the night. 9:22PM

I get up, get ready, relax a little bit. Then I get the call I had been waiting for. We schedule a time when I come in for the interview, great. The time comes and I drive over. I took so many wrong turns it was hilarious. I zigzagged my way over there and finally parked. I went in and waited. I walked out and came home. I had some ravioli for lunch and the rest of dinner. At last, I'm done with it! I made some rice a roni as the rest of my meal lol. I watched some tv shows and later Sophie came over to pick me up to go to a joint birthday party of some of the sorority girls. She has to be sober for her orientation leader job so I went along with her sober. We said hello and talked for a few moments then an hour later she dropped me back off at home. It was nice to see them though. And I probably would not have gone if she couldn't drop me off at home, so it worked out nicely. I went to sleep shortly after that. 9:51PM

I got up around 9 I'd say. I've been on the same routine pretty much every day. I'll wake up around 5 because it's already bright out, feel like I'm ready to wake up, realize what time it is and got back to sleep for a little more sleep. I was going to see Sophie again today but as it turns out, I get a phone call about a job. I get all excited because I think it's from one of the numerous ones I've applied to, but no such luck. It's with a company that's a scam and I have been ignoring for a while. Sophie picks me up and we go downtown to have breakfast. We go to Henry's Diner, my first time there and it was yummy. This was more regular food, or as she called it: Marielle friendly haha. I got some yummy pancakes. When we were done we went to Shaw's to get some cards. I picked mine out quickly like I always do, but she, no kidding, took 25-30 minutes to pick out just a few cards. It was ridiculous. We at last left and went to the movies again. This time we saw Get Him to the Greek and even though it seemed to be funny in the previews, I thought it was terrible. Just terrible. We went to see her apartment but couldn't get in because her keys didn't work. So much for that. She dropped me back off at home. I then got a call to come in for an interview, but I missed the call. Ack! So I call her back and no response for the rest of they day. Noo! All in all, I called 3 times and left 2 voice mails lol. Oh well, now I just have to wait. I had ravioli for lunch and then for dinner and watched some tv before bed time. 9:47PM

I woke up around 9:30 and got ready. It was a rainy yucky day. And kind of cool which was odd. The high was in the upper 50s. Some guys brought down a recycling bin that was completely full of empty beer cans. Once they were gone, I went out and collected them haha. It was $3 worth! It was gross, but that's a lot. And it's better than a bum coming up on the porch. Once that was taken care of I went to Price Chopper for groceries. Once I got out, I got soaked and so did the groceries. I brought them inside and parked the car. I went through my newspaper and had a donut for lunch, mmmm! I later had leftover ravioli for dinner and watched the MTV Movie Awards. And wow I'm glad I taped the original live airing because half of it's unedited. So many people when off script and said naughty words and I got it taped. It was super funny though. Haven't seen one as funny as this in a really long time. 9:37PM

There was some odd weather today. We were under a tornado watch until 8pm. But there was no rain until about 8pm. Earlier in the day though I went downtown to do some laundry. Some girl asked some other guy what day of the week it was. I found that odd. I came home, car still working! yay! I put away my laundry and had lunch, the rest of the leftover pizza. For dinner I made ravioli. 9:34PM

I got a lot of mail today, so much in fact that it was hand delivered to me haha. I got some grab-it's in the mail and so did a huge cleaning overhaul in the apartment. There was a year's worth of dust and I got just about all of it. It was so gross. I also decided to tackle the dreaded shower's mildew. I cleaned that up and felt so relieved. It never seems like the same shower after a big cleaning. I applied for jobs and had some eggs for lunch and pizza for dinner. Turns out that chirping detector is coming from my basement, now that needs to be replaced too. 8:32PM

I did the same thing today as always but had eggs for lunch, oo. They're about to go bad, so I'm eating them up. I dropped a job application off in person and then waited: I had an oil change appointment at 2:30 and got there a little early. I sat down and waited around for like 40-50 minutes. But it actually didn't seem that long. It was nice to get out of the house for sure. I drove back home. Car is still working fine! So far so good! The people upstairs started being really really loud. They began to have a party that would last until 4am. They're driving me nuts. And it's a Thursday. This can't be good. If they have a party on a Thursday, then they probably will on Friday and Saturday too. I really wish the old tenants were back up there instead. I made a Flatbread pizza for dinner and it was not very good lol. It didn't have sauce, but had olive oil I believe. I also had to thaw it which I thought was strange. Oh well. I still have some for leftovers, and I best eat it! I can also hear another smoke/CO2 detector dying again. I think it's upstairs so hopefully they'll take care of it ASAP. I'm also considering taking some dance classes over the summer. I need some activities other that work to satisfy myself. (That is once I have that job hahaha) So I looked online, and there's one in South Burlington that has an adults class and it seems kinda nice. I'll think about it. Problem is, I don't have any shoes here and I might have thrown them away thinking I would never dance again... Hmmm... But I almost feel like I would have wanted to save the last pair in tap, ballet, etc just in case. 9:53PM

Today I got up, got ready, applied to a job or two. I was waiting around all day to find out when my car would be ready. At last I got the call around 1 and quickly asked if they could pick me up. The Burlington shuttle happens at 1:30 and then not again till 3:30. Luckily they could still pick me up in time and I met them at Pearl Street Beverage. The shuttle picked some other people up and at last we got to the dealership. I got everything settled there and tried the car. It works! Now I've got two car parts in my car part collection lol. The part they replaced is like a giant hard drive. It's interesting. Heavy too. Anyway I parked somewhere else there and turned on and off the car a number of times to make sure it was really fixed. It worked fine, with my two different keys and everything. So I drove home and parked in my new parking spot. It's certainly not as convenient. As in, not right outside our door, but it's in a much safer situation. Much less foot traffic, although it is a little tight over there. The landlord lady thinks she may move me to a better spot in the next few months or so. It'd be just a hair closer. Anyway. I went home and later met back up with the landlord and got the proper parking pass. I came home and earlier had a grilled cheese for lunch and the rest of my ham and corn for dinner. 9:49PM

I was hoping my car would be ready today, but no such luck. I guess I'll have to get it tomorrow. I looked for jobs, I cleaned up around the house and for lunch I had a grilled cheese and for dinner I had ham and corn. It was tasty. And an orange for dessert! Today was the big move in day today too, but it was extremely quiet in the morning. It was rainy and gross outside, but still. Eventually people showed up in the afternoon. There's a bunch of girls upstairs and now I'm wishing it was the same people. Because they keep doing stuff that we never did. Like shutting this heavy gigantic door that constantly gets jammed because they are scared. There's plenty of people who are stupid and keep their doors unlocked and those are the people that always run into trouble. Today I also walked up to campus to get a transcript sent out for a job. I got soaked on the way up and of course on the way back down it stopped raining lol. 10:56PM
