Nick woke me up in the morning since it was getting too late lol. I showered and we went over to his dads house. Nick helped him do some work and I got to play with his kitty. He actually slept on my lap twice!! I loved it. We left and went to the grocery store. It's been so busy lately. It's just difficult to find a parking spot and it's kind of limited as it is. We dropped the food off at home and relaxed for a few hours. I did a few puzzles from the paper and eventually we got a call from Nick's dad to go eat at Flatbread downtown. He picked us up and we went over. The pizza was yummy yummy. Oh my car was introduced to snow for the first time this season. We got a little pelted at one point, but then it stopped. If anything substantial did fall, it wouldn't stick yet. The ground is still a bit too warm. Anyway, we got dropped back off at home and watched some Sunday shows and then it was my bedtime before I knew it. 10:01PM

Well I slept in really late. I had breakfast and did laundry. Later Nick and I went to Winooski Beverage to check out their specials. We dropped some stuff off at home and then drove to the movie theater. We were to see Jackass in 3D. My first 3D film. It was an alright movie. I laughed. It was gross. That was my expectation. On the way home we stopped at Burger King for a hearty meal lol. We then came home and watched some tv. We didn't go out for Halloween. Nick doesn't like the holiday - mostly because he feels it's an excuse for people to behave even worse. Which is true around here. People are more rowdy and obnoxious. Anyway, it's freezing outside. So while the girls are showing off major skin, it's in the 30's and occasional snow keeps falling down. 10:57PM

I took a lot of pictures at work today. After I drove over to Nightmare Vermont. That was the place we were to scare people. I showed up late because of work and then because of terrible traffic. But I quickly changed into the scary clothes and got some makeup thrown on my face. I went to the scary duplex where we were to do this. I created a scary scene with another girl, Victoria. It took us a few tries to get the right technique but then we were getting people good. Some were totally petrified and some were like ha ha that's stupid and had comments. It was definitely more fun when people screamed and ran through our room. Well apparently we were a hit and was able to leave around 10:40. I came home to Nick and we watched a tiny bit of tv as I had a late dinner/snack. I also showered when I got home since I was gross. 10:54PM

I cooked a pizza after work tonight. We caught up on some tv. The Halloween specials were funny on NBC tonight. Sadly, we couldn't get the channel in HD though. Just that channel was done. I figured out my attire for tomorrow and then went to sleep. 10:00PM

I had another day of work. Once I came home, we decided to eat at Roque's. We hopped in the car and drove over. Dinner was very yummy and we talked about vacations like the entire time. We got back home and watched a tiny bit of tv before I went to sleep after 10. 9:57PM

Worked again. It's getting dark so early now. And the sun is coming up in the mornings so late now. I don't like it at all. After work I came home and called home. Nick and I then decided on dinner, some cheeseburgers because I felt lazy and wasn't really interested in anything else we had. I ate that up and then had to go to Ben & Jerry's downtown. Tonight our sorority was breaking up into five teams of five for a Vermonster Challenge. This is a bucket of ice cream with 20 scoops, a brownie, a cookie, and five different toppings. Whoever wins would get a nice prize, which I don't know what it is yet. Sadly our team lost. I wasn't that interested in the ice cream - especially since I just ate lol. I certainly didn't eat as much as other people in my group. We nearly finished though. Oh wells. I washed my hands and then went home to watch some tv with Nick. Oh, so last month our electricity bill was crazy high at $78. Higher than even the hottest months like July when we're running fans 24 hours a day. But this month, it was only $34. Which is by far the lowest it's ever been. Our lowest is around $50. So they definitely must have read the meter wrong. 10:01PM

Had work today. Nick made some chicken nuggets for dinner tonight. Basically like shake and baked chicken pieces. We watched some Monday night tv and that was pretty much it. 9:57PM

I slept in again until 10!! We got ready and went out. We returned Nick's crutches he had been renting. Then we went to the grocery store. Nick asked if he could ride in those electric carts again and I said no! lol. We came home and then just hung around the apartment for a few hours. I watched a few episodes of Desperate Housewives online and made cookies. I then changed and went to Waterman for sorority meeting. We did a new education module and then had regular meeting. I drove Rachel and Cassie home since it was rainy and then I picked Nick up from downtown. Tonight was Colin's going away party. He's moving back to Virginia and he still isn't done with college. He should have graduated with us. He says he'll go back to school there, but I'm not so sure... Anyway we get home and watch some primetime-like stories and then go to sleep. 9:55PM

Well I slept in past 10. It was great. I got up, showered, and then began two loads of laundry. Once that was done we ran a few errands. First we went to Small Dog - an Apple ish store. Then we went to Costco but that place was absolutely crazy. I needed some water but the lines were awful so we just decided to forget about it and leave. We came home and watched some more tv. I cooked some jambalaya since I hadn't really eaten all day. Later Nick and I went over to Sophie's to hang out. But we were yawning just after 12 so we came home and went to sleep lol. We did have a good time over there though. 10:05PM

I woke up at 5:30 today, yikes! I cleaned up and left the apartment at 7:30. Nick was sadly on his own today, but he walked to work and made it :) I had to drop the car off at the dealership to get an oil change, filter change, a little car wash, and to fix the tire pressure in all tires. I got there and they shuttled me back to work. I was actually 10 minutes early, yay. I got a call during the day that the car was ready, so I got a shuttle back to the dealership and came back to work. I drove home and Nick and I decided on our dinner plans. We went to McDonalds and got a feast and also got a bunch of Monopoly pieces lol. We came home and watched some tv. 10:02PM

It's a Thursday, but not a pay day Thursday lol. I got out of work and came home. Nick attempted to walk to work today, but he didn't even get to the end of the street when he decided to turn around and come back home. So I drove him up again. He did walk home though, as usual. I can't remember what we ate now, but probably nothing too exciting. 9:59PM

I had to run to the grocery store after work today. Nick's out of tea and I'm out of tea. I get hot tea in the morning and Nick drinks cold Arizona tea when he's thirsty. I also drove him to work again. Anyway, back at home we cooked a pizza and that was all for my night. I got a package from home full of Disney goodies though! 10:16PM

Again I drove Nick to work. He's been walking home because it's easier to go downhill versus uphill for him. I came home after work and Nick was cooking some pork chops. We ate those and then around 7, I went up to campus for Theta's International Day of Service. So our group made care packages and wrote letters to soldiers overseas. Also it turns out that we have a soldier lady in our group. She's a medic and could be called over in a 48 hour notice. We had a good time. I left when I finished. I came home and relaxed with Nick for a little bit before going to sleep. 10:14PM

I ended up driving Nick to work today. As a result, I get to work before I can even get into the building. Work was good though. I'm getting some light photography training, as in some not like actual, physical lights lol. After work I went home and we had dinner. I made a giant box of mac and cheese and we watched some Monday night tv shows. 10:12PM

Nick's only way of getting around now is by crawling. He can't put any weight on it. We get ready and have some breakfast. We first stop at Rite Aid. The only crutches they have are not the appropriate height and are $42. Yikes. We try Walgreens and they don't have any. We go to Shaw's and I find out from the pharmacist that another grocery store has some. We go to Hannaford's and I don't see any. I ask the pharmacist and she gives me some! So we're renting them! It's really perfect, because no one wants to hang onto crutches. We put a $25 deposit on the card and when we bring them back, we get that money back. Awesome! We then go to see his mom. She couldn't believe what she saw of course. But we had earrands to run for her so we began. We got into her car and drove to her house to make sure the house was locked. Then we went to Nick's house. We loaded some stuff into the car - like four tires into the car. We were out of gas, so I got her some gas. My good deed for the month. We went back to where she was working and got some sandwiches and a drink - chocolate milk for me. We talked for a little bit and then went on our way. We stopped at the grocery store and Nick rode around in one of those electric carts. He was hilarious. We came home and relaxed. Later I had my sorority education and colony meeting. We also did a service for new members that I got to directly participate in. Fun! 10:13PM

I slept in until around 8:30. I got up, had breakfast. I did a load of laundry and worked on a bunch of stuff that I needed to do. Lots of paperwork and getting my desk back in order. I pile receipts and bills and other paperwork on my desk during the week, and then it frustrates me enough by the weekend and I've got to clear it all away lol. Nick had plans to go to a friends place, so I drove him over around 12:30 to drop him off. But no one was home so we came back to the apartment. But I had somewhere to be, so I quickly ran inside to change. Nick drove me to Emily's house. I went inside and Brittany showed up too. We got into one car and tried to find this volunteer location. We were getting trained today. It's a halloween thing. We showed up late because we couldn't find the place. But others showed up even later. We joined the tour and saw the layout of the scare places. I feel like I've gotten myself into a little more than I bargained for... Too late now I guess. I have to either wear all black, or wear crappy clothes that will be shredded and get "blood" tossed all over me. Sound very dirty and I don't like ruining stuff. Meh... Anyway after an hour and a half of some interesting things, we left. I made attempt number two in dropping Nick off at his friends place. Finally they were there. I do more stuff at home and have lunch. However, around 6:30 Nick tells me he has hurt his ankle and needs to come home. I pick him up and we come home. His foot slipped down some carpeted stairs and he really hurt himself. He just went to sleep to get past the pain. He had a rough night though. We iced and he just relaxed. Nick tried to get me to let him go to the movies, but I said no! lol. It was a long night though. 10:07PM

Went to work. It was raining in the morning, but by the time I got out it was pouring and there was a ton of wind. And my umbrella didn't make any difference. Luckily I did have my raincoat and rainboots. I still got a little soaked though. My hands mostly got cold. We made meatball subs for dinner and stayed in to watch tv. It was just such bad weather out. As a result, downtown was very quiet too. 9:55PM

Nick picked me up when I got out of work tonight. It's our four year anniversary today. Earlier in the day I wrapped his present and came up with a cute card that featured Moo Katie. It's pretty great. Anyway we were going to eat at Olive Garden since we had a giftcard, but when we showed up it was totally packed with a 50 minute wait. So we said, hell no, and were on our way to a different place. We decided on The Windjammer. That's where we ate the day before our graduation. There we had zero wait time and were seated immediately. Nick got a beer, I got a fancy house drink and we got our salads and bread. We got our fancy dinner and then had some coffee afterward. It was very yummy and worked out even better than we expected. They have awesome cookie/brownie sundaes but unfortunately we were just too full - that's why we had coffee instead. And that was a yummy treat too. We came back home and shared our cards and presents. We had a good evening. Of course we were home just in time for some Thursday night tv haha. I had to stay late at work tonight. Better this night than tomorrow night. You'll see why :) I came home and we had cheeseburgers for dinner. They were the kind from Costco and it was very good. We watched some tv and relaxed. Tonight for Greek Week was the Greek Sync, which means everyone does a performance - dancing and stuff. I don't think we even placed sadly. 9:32PM

Another day of work for me! After work I came home and we made some ravioli. This night of Greek Week was the Taste of Greek Life where every group makes a variety of food with a central theme. Ours was "Boardwalk" food. I'm not sure how it went though since I didn't go. 9:29PM

I had work, but after I rushed home and ate some dinner: a slice of ham. I drove up to campus and met with my sorority partner for the week to meet and get to know each other. We sat for about 20 minutes before she needed to return home and do more homework. I went upstairs in the Davis Center to watch the Greek God/Goddess competition. It's Greek Week and stuff's happening each night. Tonight it's like a beauty pageant. Well sorta. They pick an outfit that's covered in "letters" and then there's a talent portion and a single question and answer part. It just went on and on, but in the 3nd, we took 2nd for the women! That's cool! I then came home and relaxed with Nick for a little bit. 9:23PM

Well we got up and got the day going. I had breakfast, showered, and of course it was time to get some groceries. We did some very quick shopping and dropped the items off at home. We got back into the car and drove over to Nick's dad's house. We dropped some things off there and went to Boyer's Orchards. Nick got a bag of apples and I got a little pumpkin to have as decoration. I also got us some cider donuts. He got the regular kind and I got sugar & cinnamon. We ate some on the way home hehe. Once we got home we realxed and watched a movie: Bowfinger. I had requested it weeks ago and we finally got to it. However, I had meeting later and went up to campus for that. We had an hour of education - basically just learning about the sorority and what's happened over the years. Then we had our big meeting. It's really weird being there with so many more women. Crazy! It's over 60! We finally got out and I came home. I watched a tiny bit of tv, but it was time to go to sleep before I knew it. 9:20PM

I woke up around 9. We had breakfast and decided on what to do today. We watched some tv and when we got hungry we drove over to Costco. We looked around and tried some samples. I ended up buying some frozen cheeseburgers and we were on our way. We stopped at McDonalds because it's Monopoly time again. We bought a number of items that have Monopoly tags and we ate the food up. We ended up getting like at least one of every color on the board haha. We got back in the car and went to the Winooski beer store. Nick wanted to just look around to see if there was anything new. And guess who we saw there. We saw Steve and Sarah. Steve is Nick's old friend from high school and he got married in like January and he's back from being over in Iraq. He's on a rest break period. They live in New Hampshire now, but we saw them at that very moment. I thought it was really neat because we decided to stop on a whim and we almost considered taking the McDonalds food straight home to eat. So I thought that was good to run into them. We eventually came home and I finished watching all of the things in the DVR. I then read through my entire sorority education binder. And then I got a headache and felt kind of bad. So I went to sleep when I couldn't take it anymore. However! The people upstairs were being bad and the cops showed up! We didn't even have to do anything, so that's nice. I think only one person ended up with a noise violation, but it should have been every roommate. Hopefully this will keep them quiet for a while. If they get caught again, the fine will be even higher. And a third time is like a big deal - maybe a criminal offense or something big like that. 11:27PM

Had work and after I drove up to campus. Tonight's the new member ceremony and I missed the good stuff with the new members. I was a little sad, but oh well. I had some pizza that was not eaten and we got a new bag and shirt. We also got our education binder booklet thingy. I drove Sophie home and went home for a little bit. About 45 minutes later, Sophie picked me up and we went up to Harris Millis and picked up Suzanne and a new member named Lindsay. We drove over to Winooski for a game night with the sorority ELC's. My little group played Bananagrams. It was fun. I was bad at first, but then won a few rounds. It's like everyone plays their own game of scrabble and whoever finishes their letters wins. After a while though, Sophie, Suzanne and I were dropped back off at our homes and that was it. I stayed up for a while doing some stuff online and watched a little tv. 11:17PM

It's officially been three months of employment for me! That time flew by. Part of me feels like I've been there longer, but part of me also feels like I started only recently. After work I walked home. Nick suggested we get some food downtown. We walked to Big Fatty's BBQ for Nick. I got a pecan pie. And then we stopped at Boloco so I could get a chicken caesar wrap. We ate back at home and watched our Thursday night tv. I talked to mom and that was pretty much all of our night. 9:56PM

It was a yucky day out today. Rainy and yucky. I drove to work because after I needed to get up to campus for a colonization kick off event. I showed up late, but that was expected. I snuck in with a few other girls who were waiting for any last minute stragglers. I saw the rest of the presentation (this is for the sorority). I ate a cookie and then was on my way home. I dropped off Caroline since she lives close and it was raining outside. I made it home and just in time for ravioli dinner. I filled myself up and we watched some tv! I did better at going to sleep early tonight. At least I was in bed sooner so I would fall asleep sooner. 8:00PM

It's getting harder to wake up in the morning, because it's very dark out now. After work I came home and Nick had made chicken pasta roni. It was yummy yummy. I love that meal. We add peas to it too. We watched some tv and did the normal thing. 7:58PM

Back to work today. After work I came home and Nick and I made some dinner. We made meatball subs and it was yummy and filling. We watched some tv and taped some more stuff. There's Weeds and Big C for Nick, Hoarders, House, Atlanta Housewives and American Pickers. I've been getting behind on my going to sleep early trend. It''s been more like falling asleep around 10:45 instead of 10:15. Oops. 9:29PM

I kind of slept in, till 8:30. I got up, showered, had breakfast and after a while we drove over to BCBG when it opened. I was looking for a dress that's like casual, not one that has "dress material." If that makes sense. Maybe one made out of cotton, or whatever. I didn't find anything there or on the sale racks - like a summer dress. So Nick and I just went grocery shopping. We came home, unloaded the car and began some tv watching and I did a load of laundry. The person before me clearly was an expert at washing their stuff. They put three pillows, a comforter and some sheets and other things in a single load. Now our washer and dryers are not the largest around. I was down there for 10 minutes after their dryer load finished and go figure their stuff was not dry. But since they were no where to be found, I yanked it all out and put mine in. Later Nick and I made some mac and cheese for dinner and then I went up for a little sorority meeting. Here's our Sunday line up: Boardwalk Empire, Bored to Death, Eastbound and Down (for Nick), Dexter, Amazing Race, 1.5 hours of cartoons for Nick, Desperate Housewives for me, Keeping up with the Kardashians, and I think that's it. I feel like there could be one more... Oh well. 10:01PM


October 2, 2010
I woke up at 7 and got ready. I had breakfast and then Nick and I left the apartment around 9:15. We got to the car and went to his house. He grabbed a few items and then we went to get some fuel at the slowest pump in the world. I only got about 8 gallons, but it took about 15 minutes to get it. People were filling and leaving next to us as we were still filling up. We at last got on the road and began our drive to Greensboro, VT. Today there's some beer event that Nick wanted to go to. So I'm driving him. We made it around 11:30 and it was freezing outside. It was windy and just cold. I was luckily wearing pants, a jacket, and a vest, but I was still freezing. We did some exploring and Nick bought some things. I was bored and cold so I went to the car and warmed up inside. The car really holds that last driving temperature for hours and hours. It was very comfortable in there. I even took a nap! haha. Nick let me know they had some beef stew that was available as food. I got some because I was hungry and it was warm. It was good. We stayed there until about 3:10. We began our drive home and Nick fell asleep for almost the entire drive haha. We got home and I cooked a pizza. It felt good to be home and now we could relax. We went through some tv and watched Dogs 101 that night. I love that show. Gives me my puppy fix lol. And we fell asleep kinda early, like 10:30 lol. 10:01PM

Friday! The work week totally flew by this week. I'd been working some projects that made me lose track of time. It was rainy again today. I decided to walk to work and got my feet, shoes, and socks totally soaked as a result. I was kinda miserable for half the day, but eventually they dried out. I came home after and Nick and I went out to Chili's to use my birthday coupon I had received from them. A free brownie sundae! My favorite dessert! I almost forgot to bring it and then left it in the car at the restaurant haha. But we got the free brownie sundae and it was very delicious. We came home and luckily it had stopped raining by the evening. I watched a lot of my shows, but of course we're still taping more! Tonight includes The Soup, Clone War - Star Wars for Nick, and some discovery channel survival shows also for Nick. I got sleepy around 11:30 though, so I hit the hay. 9:41PM
