Happy Birthday daddy! It was raining today, so I drove to work and I also did that because I had to get home quickly. I did that, and waited for dinner to be ready. Nick made some rice a roni. I ate some in about 5 minutes and go drive up to campus for an information session on Kappa Alpha Theta. Now that formal recruitment is over, we can begin our own! So that's what we're doing. I had fun with the group of us that was there. I also enjoyed hearing the information again - makes me get excited about the whole thing. It was still rainy and yucky out by the time I got back home. Thursday's our big night for tv: The Office, 30 Rock for Nick, Community, A few Bravo shows like DC Housewives and Watch What Happens Live, Stan Lee's Superhumans. Stupid Jersey Shore - because we just have to check out those crazy peeps. And my favorite Project Runway and then the show after with former Project Runway winners. And now FX shows have started up again: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and The League. And when I go to sleep at 10 I miss out on some shows so you see how behind we always seem to be lol. This week's your one and only glimpse as to what shows we watch since I always say we're trying to catch up on shows lol. 9:36PM

Another day at work. After I came home and watched some tv. Nick was proctoring an exam on campus. I picked him up and we went out to eat at Friendly's. The food was yummy and fast. We came home and watched some tv and taped LA Ink for Nick and Real World New Orleans. That last show is almost over, yay, we can be down a show lol. 9:30PM

I managed to remember about making a sandwich for lunch lol. I also brought my bills to be mailed. I did that during lunch. I got another ride home from work because it was raining again. Actually it rained on the way to work, but I didn't care at the time. Nick and I cooked up a steak thing of ham. It was good, but salty. We watched Tuesday night shows like Glee and The Colony and then watched more stuff on the DVR. 9:59PM

It's Monday and back to work I went. We got our eelectricity bill over the weekend and it's the highest it's ever been. Higher than even July when we use the fans 24/7. Or even in winter when the lights are on longer. I called up the electricity people but they didn't really help at all. Basically said, too bad, pay the bill. As a result, I forgot to make a sandwich for lunch and I had to run out the door since I was on hold for so long. I had some snacks though, so I wasn't totally screwed. I got a ride home because it was raining when we got out. Nick and I made some jambalaya for dinner and it was delicious. We watched some tv trying to catch up on everything we taped over the weekend. Go figure, it's a lot. 9:56PM

It's my birthday! I'm a big 23! Yikes! How did I get to this age?? We got up in order to make breakfast. It was busy though and we barely got a table after waiting a while for one. I had two doughnuts and a coffee. We went back up so I could finish getting ready and finished packing. We went back down to check out and everyone else was doing the same so it took forever. We got in the car and got some fuel. I have to now plan ahead of time where I can get fuel since it's diesel. We got back on the road and began our drive home. We stopped at another Burger King for lunch. When we got back to Burlington we went directly to Price Chopper to take care of groceries. We flew through the place and came home to unpack. We relaxed, watched some tv. I nearly took a nap, but I had to up to campus for my sorority meeting. I helped put out fliers after, but came home and went to bed after. 10:00PM


September 25, 2010
We woke up and got ready. We went down for breakfast. I got a muffin, doughnut, and a coffee. We went back up and I continued to get ready. We drove over the casino again. I played more games and actually won some money! I kept the voucher because it would have burned a hole in my pocket. I then did some exploring. I visited the stores and checked out all the restaurants they had. I did a giant lap around the whole area. Then Nick and I got lunch at the buffet. Nick dropped a bowl of soup, but no one was around to help, so we left it lol. Lunch was good though. The cheesecake was amazing though. Very very good. We decided to leave and drive around town. We went down to Mystic, CT and just drove through it. Then we decided to go to Rhode Island since it was so close and I hadn't been there before. We literally drove in, did a small loop and went back to CT lol. We then drove to the Foxwoods Casino since it was so close. We parked and walked inside. There's a tiny MGM casino there and then the Foxwoods. It was nice, but not as done up as the Mohegan Sun. Close, but not quite. Nick and I got a drink at the bar and relaxed. After walking and playing for a little bit more we went back to the hotel. I got a birthday card from Nick. It was nice surprise. It's cute and Moo Katie was holding it! We hung out at the hotel until we got hungry. We drove back to the casino and found a place for dinner. Nick wanted to try Margartiaville, but they were blasting music from a live band so we went to some southern food place called Big Bubba's BBQ. I got a very yummy fried chicken poboy. It was delicious and it was a huge helping of food. When we were full, we left the restaurant and I took a few pictures of the shopping area of the casino. We came back to the hotel and went to sleep. 10:54PM

I had work and during my lunch break I went to the bank. I got out of work a little early, just an hour. Nick picked me up in the car and we left for our adventure in Connecticut. We only made one stop, in Massachusetts. Nick got some fancy beers at this place called Table & Vine and then we got dinner at Burger King. In CT we drove in the carpool lane and it was awesome! No one else was in it, amazing. We got back on the road. At last we got to the hotel around 10 and checked in. Since we made good time we drove over to the casino: Mohegan Sun. I explored the slot machines but ending up losing some money. We drove back home and went to sleep for the night. We were pretty tired. 11:38PM

There's a bunch of people's birthdays in September at work, including my own. Well we all gathered together and had a cake for all the September birthdays! It was neat. I'm surprised they knew. Of course it's on file somewhere, but to actually do something and count me in was really nice. We had a marble cake that was yummy yummy and some other raspberry pastry. After work I came home and threw in a batch of laundry. I cooked a pizza for dinner so now I have leftovers for tomorrow at work. I watched some new tv shows and then went to sleep! 9:53PM

Still had my bad headache/migraine. Work was fine though. I came home and made grilled cheeses for dinner. We caught up on tv and now I'm doing something around the apartment that I was getting behind on. I'm always doing catch up stuff in my free time. Oh wells. 9:08PM

Let's see. Nothing that' exciting. I had a nasty headache coming on by the end of the work day. I walked home and I began to make Taco's. Nick had to proctor an exam so he got home late. We watched tv. The new fall season of tv has been starting this week, but we're surprisingly not slammed with a bunch of shows yet. It's nice not to be though. I finally got to sleep early tonight, because I hadn't the past two nights. Sad thing was, I woke up a thousand times during the night! 10:00PM

Back to work today. I drove because I needed to get home quickly after work. I did just that and ate dinner quickly. Nick made some little baked chicken bites. We also had some peas. I changed and drove up to campus for the first and only night of formal recruitment for us. I arrived late and missed the first round/party. That's ok. I was there for the other four. It went well though. I'm normally not very outgoing and talkative, but again this year I chatted the entire 30 minutes each round. I wish I could do this in real life with people I don't know that well lol. We quickly cleaned up aterward and I came right home. I changed and hopped into bed. 10:26PM

I woke up at 8. I tried my best to sleep in. I had some breakfast and after a few hours we went to the grocery store. Nick had fun "drifting" the grocery cart around the store. We came home and I did two loads of laundry. I'm just about done watched the rest of the tv items on the DVR. I made brownies too! I almost fell asleep for a nap. I changed for my sorority meeting and it was good. Turns out I can go to Recruitment. It was kind of a shocker because I thought I couldn't, since I'm an alumnae. But they said I could, just have to dress differently, which is fine, because I'll get to stand out and be different. Makes me feel more special, like I may have more importance hehe. 10:16PM

I woke up at 8 and hoped into the shower. Today Nick and I are going to a wedding party/reception. This couple got married like a month or so ago in a very private ceremony, and today there's a little event for it. However, it's in New Hampshire at 1. I got up, got ready, and had breakfast. We wanted to leave at 9:45, but left in the car at 10. A little close. We drove to Williston and got fuel. We also stopped at Nick's bank to get some money. Back in the car and we kept driving. Before we left, Nick had this idea to get them some very fresh Lawson's Beer from Warren, VT. Nick and I occasionally make this trip out there because he loves it. This couple are also his "beer friends" as I like to call them, and so they enjoy the beer just as much as he does. So! Nick wanted to get them a bottle, and some for himself of course! It was a little out of the way, but we figured we had factored in enough time, so ok. On the way, we had to make a stop at a grocery store to go potty. I had tea in the morning, and with the vibration of the car, we have to stop a lot lol. We finally get to the Warren Store and buy the beer. I get some candy. We use the bathrooms again and get back on the road. Now we're taking back roads to get back onto the interstate, versus backtracking - because that would be like 30 more minutes to back track. We literally go up and over a mountain on this dirt road. Finally we make it back onto the interstate and try harder to get there. At last we enter New Hampshire, but we need to stop at a Rest Area... lol. Back on the road and we arrive 45 minutes late... Oops. Somehow this 2.5 hr drive turned into 4 horus. We changed into our nice clothes in the car and walked inside. O! They were just mingling for an hour, phew! We didn't miss a thing, good. It was at this Audubon society of New Hampshire. It was nice for what it was and there was a giant bald eagle next door! We sit down at tables at 2 and "dinner" was served at 2:30. The food was good. All kinds of stuff to pick from. I had a glass of wine and Nick had a beer that added up to $11. Geez. We had coffee and cake at the end of the meal and mmm we were full. Glad we didn't miss the meal! hehe. We hang about and watch the activities. Not many people were dancing, but were doing some exploring of the building/land. And that's what Nick and I did which was fun for a while. Oh, this place has a Leed Gold title, which means super super "green" and eco-friendly. The toilets looked sorta like a toilet on the outside, but inside there was literally like a 10+ foot drop/chute down to the earth where your poop, etc was composting. Yeah... I'm really not a fan of this hardcore "green" stuff. Give me real toilets that flush with water. It was bizarre, but surprisingly enough, it did not smell - at all. There are some buildings at UVM that have lower rankings, but still have some sort of title. Which is cool for UVM, but the more hardcore it gets, the more ridiculous I think it is. Another thing about the toilets was that there was a strange breeze blowing upwards at you... Again, very strange. Anyway, so we changed when it was over and were back on the road again at 5:30. This time we made zero stops and made it back to Burlington in 2.5 hours. Lol, I'm not sure what happened earlier. I was on the hunt for a brownie sundae so we decided to try Applebee's. We sat at the bar and ended up just ordering food lol. I got some chicken tenders and cheese sticks. We then came home and watched some tv. I was falling asleep sitting up so I finally got to bed. 11:11PM

It's a Friday, woo hoo. After work I talked to mommy on the phone for a bit. Then I cooked a pizza because I was hungry hungry. We were thinking about eating out, but decided to save it for another day. I watched some taped shows that were on the DVR and really just took it easy. I could hear the people upstairs, but really not loud at all. This is so strange, but if it continues, all the better! 9:57PM

Did the normal salad lunch during work. After I drove home because it was raining out. Poor Nick got soaked on his bike home from work. We made some dinner: spaghetti and meatballs, or as Nick says spag and balls. We watched some tv and that was really pretty much it. I was nervous about tonight because I saw the upstairs people bringing up a bunch of 30 racks of beer. But they're being quiet, or reasonable, for once! 10:26PM

Nick and I have been reinvaded with big flies. It's disgusting. I'm not sure how they are getting in. Maybe through the cracks and holes in the ceiling. Nick's unfortunately getting really good at killing these things. He was even cold today in the apartment and turned on the heat! haha! I beat him! We made cheeseburgers and set off the smoke alarm. We broil them and the gunk on the pan always gets burnt. They were yummy though. We did the usual and tried to catch up on tv lol. 9:30PM

After work I came home and changed into more comfortable pants. I then drove up and went to the Davis Center.I was going to have a meeting with my new ELC's from the sorority. One's sick, so the other one came and we had a nice time. I like them both. We had a very nice chat and went our own ways after about 30 minutes. I came back home, had a delicious Smart One meal and watched some tv with Nick. 9:27PM

And another work week begins, but at least the people upstairs were finally quiet throughout the night! Work was good. After I came home and helped Nick make chicken rice a roni. It finally came out well. Not too dry or tasting funny lol. We watched some tv and that was about it. It's getting cool in the house now! We may just have to turn on the heat, but I want to try to last until how far we went last year, which was Sept 30. 9:20PM


September 12, 2010
Nick and I got up and decided to get breakfast out this morning. We got ready and drove over to this new place called The Spot. It's suppose to be like a surfer place. They were pretty busy, but the service was lousy and the food was bland. We got coffee and even thought you poured a ton of milk in, it was still like black. Oh well. Disappointing, but I still enjoyed eating out. We went on to Price Chopper to get groceries. We came home and got a call from Nick's mom. She was the Shelburne Museum and there's a big dog extravaganza going on. We got back in the car and drove over. It was my first time visiting this place, so we checked out most of the sites. We also saw a ton of dogs, so I could in my puppy seeing. We saw a westie and even a havanese! The kinds maybe Nick and I could have one day! The havanese was adorable in person. First time I'd seen one and I hate to say it, but maybe I favor it over the westie now... It was just the cutest sweetest thing. We saw a 50's house, but I just laughed at how much it looked like apartments in downtown Burlington. Seeing some of the food products is always neat, but the furnishings are still around haha. We stopped by his mom's apartment after and got some food from her. We came home and watched a little tv, but before I knew it, I had to go up to campus for my sorority meeting. We have to dress up now for all meetings. The meeting went well. When I got home I had a slice of leftover pizza for dinner and watched our taped Big Brother and then I was off to bed. 8:03PM


September 11, 2010
Woke up, made some breakfast and took a shower. We did some slight tv watching, but went downtown to walk around the farmer's market. Nick got a little snack since he had some cash. We then walked down Pine Street because the Art Hop is this weekend. There are a bunch of locations that display people's art, so we did the loop. We saw his dad and made plans for later. We got a free scoop of Ben & Jerry's ice cream - they do this every year. It was fun, but a lot of walking and we were exhausted. On the way home, we got a giant loaf of bread at the Stone Soup and snacked on that when we got home. We relaxed. I nearly feel asleep on the couch, but we had to get going. We got in the car and drove to Michael's. I bought a picture frame for my composite picture from the sorority and then we drove to his dad's house. He cooked some steaks and also had some corn on the cob. Eventually we left and came home. We watched the 9/11 special on the History channel and it was very good. The people upstairs was quiet, but of course not for long. they are strange, because at 10 they will be quiet and still at 11 sometimes when I go to sleep. Then all of a sudden they wake up at 2am and don't stop for another hour and it's quiet again. 9:59PM

As I was coming home from work, Nick was going to see his beer buddies. I made a pizza and tried to catch up on tv by watching two hours of Glee and two hours of Project Runway. However, I kept being distracted by the annoying people upstairs. They were awful last night and tonight it's even worse. When I was getting ready for bed, I did some spying and all of a sudden the who apartment cleared out and as a result, there was a tiny mob outside. There were about 30 people out there and then they all walked down the sidewalk in a huge mass. These people are just driving us nuts. They are very loud and have parties 2-3 times a week, every week. And they barge in through their door yelling and screaming and and hang out on the porch drinking. Don't worry, they've got a reality check coming real soon. 7:54PM

After work I walked over to Sophie's apartment. We soon left for dinner. We went to this place called the Rotisserie. I got ribs. I'm not sure why. I guess I was feeling slightly adventurous, but I think I really just wanted somethign with a BBQ taste. I never, ever eat ribs lol. Our dinner also came with a salad which was yummy and rolls, and I had two of those. I took home food and I was still stuffed so much. Nick and I watched some tv for a tiny bit, but it was my bedtime before I knew it. 10:31PM

It's starting to turn into fall around here. I guess not with the trees, which is sorta essential. But the weather is certainly beginning to cool down. There are some hot days that pop up here and there, but for the most part it's getting cooler. And especially at night. We had pork chops for dinner and the rest of the mashed potatoes. I gave us too much but I wanted to finish the batch. We definitely could have made that last another day haha. 10:28PM

We kind of slept in today. I had breakfast and decided on what to do today. I didn't feel like going to Canada so we would go on another hike. This time any easier one. On the way we stopped at the VT Teddy Bear Factory and took a tour. It was fun! The tour lasted for quite a while and it was just fun. We got little bear cut outs to take home and that was nice. We continued on our journey and made it to Mt Philo. It's a little state park mountainy area. We parked and began our hike on the trail. It was pretty busy, but people let us pass and it was fine for the rest of the trip. As we were heading up, we ran into our landlord and her family! How crazy that we would run into them in that spot? I found it funny. Anyway, we continued up and after 25 or so minutes, we made it to the top. I took some pictures and we found a picnic table to sit down at and munch on a snack. When we were rested up, we went back down the mountain and it took probably about the same amount of time. We got back in the car and drove to our favorite apple orchard. We were too tired to go pick apples, so we just bought some corn, pears, apple cider donuts, and a nice wooden cheese board that was for a good price. It's very pretty. We came home and good thing, because it was certainly ugly out by this time. It was like it was about to rain. We got to the apartment and relaxed. Once dinner rolled around, we made mashed potatoes and I boiled the corn. That was our dinner lol. It was very good though. Nick threw some garlic in with the potatoes. Yum! We watched some Monday night shows and went to sleep. 8:01PM

I woke up at 8:30 with my alarm. I got cleaned up and we went to Price Chopper. We did our shopping and came home. Nick played with the Legos for a little bit and then we got in the car again. We got some gas, or fuel/diesel really. Then we drove to my bosses house far away. We got there, played with his puppy, checked out the grounds, and then had a late lunch. It was yummy and I became too full. He then drove Nick and I around the area and showed us all kind of neat things. We had to leave at 6 though, and when it was time, we were on our way back home. It was actually pretty chilly today too! Felt like Fall!! It's making me confused lol. We got home, and I ran in to change. I then got back to the car and had to drive up for my first sorority meeting of the year. It was good to see people. Meeting was good. Of course it went later than we thought, but tonight that was ok because tomorrow I have the day off!!! Yay! My first holiday as an adult haha. I'm going to take advantage of it. So is Nick. I came home after and watched the few shows of tv we had on and then went to sleep at a sort of late time, but still before midnight haha. 9:19PM

I woke up, had some tea from my fancy teapot. We got ready and watched a tiny bit of tv. We then walked downtown to have some fun. We first visited at the farmers market. I saw a cute card I thought about getting for mommy, but decided not. It was a lot for one card. We looked at some other things and then continued on our way. We stopped at Starbucks to get a drink. We came home, relaxed, enjoying how it was a little cooler out. We had our leftovers for lunch and watched a movie. Later we decided to go back down to Church St. Starbucks is doing this thing where you come back after 2pm and you get a grande drink for $2, so we went back and this time Nick got a drink that would normally be like $6. So it was worth it. We visited the new Toys R Us Express store in the mall and decided on a new game to buy! It's called Creationary. You pick a card, build an object on the card out of Legos. It's a lot of fun. We came home and played it for a few hours! Nick loves it. I took pictures of our creations hehe. Tonight, it was much louder. Especially upstairs. They were so loud and annoying. Friday! I got out of work and came home. Again, I didn't do laundry. We were hungry and it was still a little warm outside, and inside, so we drove down to Roque's for dinner. We got some yummy things and I got a fancy margarita drink. It was a fun date! We came home after and were so stuffed. We hung out inside and waited for the night to begin. As in, it's the first weekend for those college kids, so we were scared the people upstairs would be loud and obnoxious. And that the streets would be loud too. Well we got tired early since we were full, so we went to sleep lol. It was quiet upstairs, somehow, but loud outside. Bleh. 10:05PM

Another hot hot day. Bleh. I'm anxiously awaiting for it to get cooler. Work was good though. Got some salads for lunch. This time they had the caesar salad and it was yummy yummy. I came home and had some dinner. We hung out for the rest of the night trying to be cool. 9:32PM

Happy Puppy Birthday Lexi! Yay! You's gettin old, but still cute! Another very hot day. I came home and was just miserable. This heat better be it. People are worried the hurricane, Earl, is going to interfere with their weekend plans. I'm just a little excited for it to bring in some cooler, nicer weather. It was too hot too cook so we made hot dogs. Boring, but what can you do. I wanted a smoothie, but we didn't exactly have smoothie material. Or ingredients really. Again we watched tv and tried not to move. For the past few nights we've smelt skunk. I'm thinking there's one in the neighborhood. We thought it was just going to be one night, but now it's just about night after night. Yucky. And of course we have to have the window open because it's unbelievably hot inside. 9:18PM
