I started webdesign on February 17, 2003, with Brinkster.com. It was a good site, but I wanted my own domain. Plus, they put ads on their sites and I couldn't get rid of them. So I came to PinchPenny.org. I bought the dime plan, and this site opened on February 1, 2004. Then PinchPenny had problems. They closed their server. I didn't get this email, but Netrillium took over the old clients. PinchPenny was deleting accounts, but they soon stopped. Netrillium sent me the missing email and I was able to save everything before the switch. They also gave out a free 5 month service which I signed up for. They have been great so far and I recommend them. I moved over on December 26, 2004; which worked out perfectly since my Dime Plan was about to end in January.
Seems like a long time ago now. So why did I do it? One: I liked Maggie's site And two: I wanted to share my stories and such.
But over time, this website has turned into a personal bloggage one. I think of it as my diary. And when I've lost things, it drives me mad because I can't read it anymore.
Anyway, I can remember when I had just the simplest layout, hahaha, if you could call it that, *lol*. It was just a picture at the top, wait.... No, *lol* it was a little picture, and then background color made the rest, and they were made in paint. Difficult thing. Then I learned how to use Jasc Paint Shop Pro version 7. I download version 8, but didn't care for it. Something happened to my computer and Jasc was erased, so I then used Adobe Photoshop version 7, and still use this version to this day. It took a while to get use to, but I love it more. So, everything has improved overtime, including layouts. Anyway, I am proud to have little tiny smidgetness part of the web, even if not very many people visit here [You'd be surprised at how many hits I've gotten! I think it's a lot]. I enjoy doing it!
06.2006 - And would you believe it? I still continue to run this website. I went through several subdomains. For instance, a very short lived photo website. Aug2, which is still running. Scanned which opened and ran for almost 2 years I'd say. It was incredible and I did enjoy providing scans, boy I had many. But time caught up with me and I just couldn't continue it. I run 1 fanlisting, a Gary Paulsen one. It only has a few members, but I'm proud. lol. I have one hostee, Maggie!!! My best friend!! She ran out of time and didn't get the chance to update her own old domain, and now I host her.
I love doing this and hope to continue for years to come.
